Pidgin No Longer Works for Me
Hello, I have been using Pidgin for a while and up until yesterday it worked fairly well. Yesterday, it would not open any of my chat accounts (AIM, ICQ, MSN, and Yahoo). Each time I tried to enable it would say something was wrong and ask if I would like to modify. My account details are accurate, and I had not made any changes prior to Pidgin no longer working. I have tried a windows update as well as re-downloading and re-installing Pidgin to make sure I have the most up to date version just a few moments ago. This has not helped the problem, I still can't log in to my accounts through Pidgin. Is this an isolated problem? Is there some kind of an update that I need? Thanks Shel ___ Support@pidgin.im mailing list Want to unsubscribe? Use this link: http://pidgin.im/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/support
Re: Pidgin No Longer Works for Me
I had a similar experience, and resolved it by uninstalling the current version and re-installing 2.6.4 On Thu, Feb 11, 2010 at 9:12 AM, Shelly Gatto grify...@gmail.com wrote: Hello, I have been using Pidgin for a while and up until yesterday it worked fairly well. Have you checked to see if you're using SSL to login? Thanks Shel I'm using Pidgin 2.6.5, if you're not using it I would recommend an update although it sounds like you're using a fairly recent version (hopefully downloaded via http://www.pidgin.im/ ) so there shouldn't be any issue there. If any of your accounts are using SSL to login, disable that as there seems to be some new issue with it (I've recently encountered it, as stated above, so I think it's a protocol thing and not a Pidgin thing). Not sure if you're on the list, CCing you if you aren't. Re: [OT] Reply-To Header
No. Take a look at my headers. I've set the reply-to to the list, and it works fine. Programmer In Training spake unto us the following wisdom: Go into your modify account tab and deselect SSL Login for all affected accounts. The accepted soluton is to uncheck clientLogin, not SSL Login. Please pay attention to all of the other emails on the topic when forming your reply. It's not clear that either solution is more correct than the other, but at least if we give everyone the same advice we can give them the same advice to fix it later when this is resolved. I was just going by the solution that I came to on my own. While the accepted solution by the majority might be to uncheck clientLogin, I don't feel proper in suggesting something that I didn't try. It's not clear that either solution is more correct than the other, but at least if we give everyone the same advice we can give them the same advice to fix it later when this is resolved. Agreed. I was unaware that a consensus had been reached, though. I've not been able to reply (or even check) my email for almost two weeks before about two days ago. When I downloaded all the mail that had collected in my account, I just marked all as read and jumped in at the next question that I had a solution for. My apologies for not being on board with the rest of the group. -- Yours In Christ, PIT Emails are not formal business letters, whatever businesses may want. signature.asc Description: OpenPGP digital signature ___ Support@pidgin.im mailing list Want to unsubscribe?
