There are also a lot of people with the big corporate logos, and often with job titles which do not match the quality of the support requests, but my suspicion is that those are people with illicit, or tolerated, installations for personal use. Because they think they are talking toa a confidential help desk, these people are happy to ask questions that reveal their mis-use of their computers. There may be counter examples, but they haven't stood out to me. -- David Woolley Emails are not formal business letters, whatever businesses may want. privacy blocking list
Hello, Im using pidgin in version 2.6.6 on Windows7. If I want to add an icq number in the blocking list for my privacy, I get the message (in german language J) Konnte den Buddy 582028938 aus einem unbekannten Grund nicht hinzufügen.. Means, its not possible to add the Buddy with unkown reason. Equal in administrative mode or not. Ive searched in the faqs and other lists and my big friend google. But never found an useful answer. What can I do? Everyday I get new contacts from Russia and I simply want to block them. With regard Frank ___ Support@pidgin.im mailing list Want to unsubscribe? Re: privacy blocking list
I think U're german, so I'll answer in german. OK, have you tried copy/pasting your password into the pw field from a text document? I don't normally recommend this but I'm not sure what could be wrong aside from either a mistyped or misremembered password (I have that problem often with my IM only accounts). This email was not a business email. PIT is a volunteer, volunteering to help you in free time for no compensation at all. This mailing list is a list of such volunteers, supporting the Open Source program Pidgin. You can find out more about it at http://pidgin.im/ . Pidgin is an instant messaging client which can connect to a number of different services, such as AOL Instant Messenger, MSN Live Chat, Yahoo! IM, etc. We are not affiliated with any of these services, and we cannot help you with account problems on the services. That said, we're more than willing to help you get Pidgin working. You say your password is being rejected. What service are you using? Can you log in to the official client for that service? How are you entering your username and password into the account dialog?
