That's to be expected. Google Talk *is* XMPP; the account type in the
drop-down is just there as a hint for people who are unaware of that fact.

Are you having an actual problem connecting to your GTalk account? If
so, what is it? Do you see an error in the Buddy List window? What
does the Help->Debug Window show?

Re: Pidgin 2.6.6 - Ubuntu 9.10: 100% CPU

2010-03-17 Thread Dagobert Duck

Hey Michel,

kannst in Ermangelung ausreichender Englischkenntnisse- übersetzen.
Abschließend kann ich dir versprechen: Keine Sorge, man wird dir hier helfen
und dein Problem lösen.

MfG

smileys

2010-03-17 Thread Vlad K.
Hello everyone.

I was on #pidgin IRC channel and asked the question. Can I use Pidgin 2.0.2
smileys on my web project?
The guy told me that he can't answer that definitively and pruposed to send
an email to the development mailing list. So here I am. Can I use Pidgin
smileys in my social network project?

Thank you in advance,
Vlad.

Re: Pidgin 2.6.6 on Nokia N800

2010-03-17 Thread Michael Secord
Just as an fyi - the Nokia N800 isn't a cell phone, it's an internet
tablet. It has no actual phone capabilities, even though it is pretty
much a phone form factor. OTOH - the Nokia N900, which I'm replying
from right now, is a cell phone, though at the heart it's still an
internet tablet, though it does have actual phone capabilities, can and
does run Pidgin, quite well actually. It handles connection switches
quite well, though with AIM accounts, you'll get the obligatory IM from
AIM's services when you switch connections that you're signed on in two
places.

As I enter a message to a Buddy, I get additional words entered as if

Is there anyway of turning this feature off?

What I was trying to type: I am trying to...Turned
