Hi All! AIM Prob

2010-04-01 Thread Jamey Karr
While setting up pidgin, I've come across an error while trying to add my
AIM account.

The error reads:Received unexpected response from
http://api.oscar.aol.com/aim/startOSCARSession: useTLS=1 is not allowed for
non secure requests.

I've tried going to the link but it doesn't go anywhere.

Any help on how to deal with this, would be great.

Thanks

From the bottom of http://pidgin.im/:

Having trouble with AIM/ICQ? Uncheck 'Use clientLogin' on the
advanced tab of the account settings.

Time Stamps?

2010-04-01 Thread Programmer In Training
I'm using 2.6.6 on FreeBSD heaven 8.0-RELEASE-p2 FreeBSD 8.0-RELEASE-p2
#0: Tue Jan 5 16:02:27 UTC 2010
r...@i386-builder.daemonology.net:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/GENERIC i386

with the following plugins active:
Buddy State Notification
Entry area manual sizing
Message Timestamp Formats
Off-the-Record Messaging
Offling Message Emulation
Pidgin Theme Editor
Psychic Mode
Release Notification
XMPP Service discovery

It seems that since I've upgrade to 2.6.6 (I've disabled all the plugins
one at a time to see if there was any change, none noted) I've lost
internal timestamps e.g.:

Buddy Name (timestamp): Message
My Name (timestamp): Message

What's up with the loss of time stamps? I used those to see how long
I've been away from a conversation.

Didn't work when I did it in the message window and in the buddy list
window it proceeds to allow me to rename a buddy or group.

Haha, I found, in the Options menu for the message window, the timestamp
option. Not sure where it disappeared to. I would swear it wasn't there
when I sent that last message.
