google talk or skype layout in pidgin chat?

2010-05-02 Thread Liviu Andronic
Dear all
Is it possible to configure Pidgin (perhaps via plug-in) to display
chats in Google Talk or Skype style. For example, I would like to have
[18:12:24] NickName: say smth
[18:13:11] NickName2: say smth else
[18:13:14] ... say smth more
[18:13:20] ... say even more

instead of the current behaviour in Pidgin:
[18:12:24] NickName: say smth
[18:13:11] NickName2: say smth else
[18:13:14] NickName2: say smth more
[18:13:20] NickName2: say even more

Would someone know how to achieve this? Thank you
Liviu

It is not currently possible. It *may* be possible in the future, if we ever
transition to using Webkit for our conversation windows and set out to support
all the features of Adium message themes.

Pidgin is not something that you can login to; you can only do that to
the individual services.

Emails are not formal business letters, whatever businesses may want.
RFC1855 says there should be an address here, but, in a world of spam,
that is no longer good advice, as archive address hiding may not work.

How to identify with Piding via SASL? (onion service)

2010-05-02 Thread otrov

Hi,

I'm running Pidgin (2.6.6. portable from Tor bundle) and everything seems
fine, except this little problem:
I like to connect to freenode using Tor

What have I tried?
1. just plain login results in immediate ban
2. using PGP pair authentication and sending mail to freenode stuff - I got
reply that they no longer offer such service (and they did until recently, I
think until begging of year)
3. addressing directly freenode onion service in Pidgin - I'm ask that I
identify via SASL

Now I don't know how to do that. I'm on windows and here are example perl
scripts for mirc and irssi: http://freenode.net/sasl/

Can someone provide solution for this?

Thanks
