You don't? I consider it very active and indeed exactly what's needed
in software that has to essentially be reverse engineered to work with
proprietary IM networks where the owner of the service often wants to
prevent 3rd party programs from accessing their servers.

I would have thought that explaining to them that Pidgin is updated
specifically to enhance their security and maintain compatibility would
engender their trust, there is nothing I hate more than knowing that my
software is inadequate for the tasks I need it to fulfil, I would
expect anyone to understand how this approach benefits them.

Remember, Pidgin is free for your use and its developers are committed
to their product. All they ask is that you understand their motivation
and trade a little inconvenience for the benefits that updates and bug
fixes bring.

pidgin-2.7.1 is not in Spanish

I have a problem, the new version of pidgin 2.7.1 is not in Spanish.
hopefully this is just a mistake, I hope to continue using it in Spanish.

If you're not using Pidgin 2.7.1, update.

If you are using Pidgin 2.7.1, attach the Help->Debug Window contents of
a connection attempt.

Yes, make sure you follow the updated instructions
(http://developer.pidgin.im/wiki/Using%20Pidgin#RunningWindowsPidginFromaUSBDrivePortableMode)
if you're doing the manual portable mode thing.

Help with pidgin

Hello, 

I really, really need your help. My pidgin account used to work fine but lately 
it was displaying Not Responding error at the start of launching the program. I 
tried to uninstall and install a new one but I'm still having the same 
problems. I use pidgin to connect to my employer since I work as a homebased 
transcriptionist. Pidgin is our way of communication and now it has stopped 
working. Please help.

Have you tried reconnecting?  I've been seeing this error off and on
recently, and usually it works if I try again.
