David Coulson wrote: The third-party mxit plugin is not supported by pidgin developers. I would suggest talking to whoever develops the plugin for compatibility issues. It actually has a funny status. It is still listed as a core protocol after MXit agreed to support it on this list. However, in practice, they only responded for a few weeks, responded slowly, and generally just responded with their getting started boiler plate text. They haven't responded here for several months. -- David Woolley Emails are not formal business letters, whatever businesses may want. RFC1855 says there should be an address here, but, in a world of spam, that is no longer good advice, as archive address hiding may not work. ___ Support@pidgin.im mailing list Want to unsubscribe? The MXit plugin is maintained by MXit and is updated regularly, though they do not provide support here on this list. You can probably contact MXit's official support directly for assistance. Re: How can i fix the display problem with pidgin
Kwagga Productions spake unto us the following wisdom: Hallo guys. I am a blind person. I have to use pidgin to talk to my mxit buddies. My screen reader don't want to read pidgin's conversation window. I know that there arn't any screen readers that support pidgin so i have to make do with what i've got. So i enlarge the fonts in pidgin. But guys sometimes and more frequently these days pidgin loads a conversation window and the display is terrible. Can you please look in to the matter for me? Thank you. It's a pitty that the conversation window isn't just text based or else my screen reader would read it. You know i am not asking the world to adapt to me All i am asking is people to find ideas to help me adapt to the rest of the world. Thanx again for the hep. Corrie Are you in Windows? Pidgin actually uses a widget toolkit which has extensive support for screen reading and other accessibility measures. They may not work in Windows, or may require additional effort to plumb into your Windows screen reading software. The toolkit is called Gtk+, you may wish to search around the web and see if there is a standard solution for screen reading with Gtk+ on Windows. If you're not on Windows ... it really should work, and we'd love to know why it doesn't, so we can fix it. A review of the online help does not provide information on this task. I have approx. 15 groups listed on a context menu that I can move people into but I only use 5 of them. How do I remove the ones that I do not need?? Andy You right-click on a group to delete it. If the problem is that you cannot see the groups (because you do not have any buddies in them) then you need to enable the Buddies-Show-Empty Groups option first. -Etan ___ Support@pidgin.im mailing list Want to unsubscribe? Thanks, Carol The statuses listed in the top section of the status selector are the generic status types that the protocol supports. They are hard-coded into the plugin responsible for the protocol in question (or into pidgin/libpurple in the case of the cross-protocol status subset). The only way to remove them is to edit the source before building pidgin (though I suppose a plugin might be able hide them at runtime with enough work). -Etan ___ Support@pidgin.im mailing list Want to unsubscribe?
