theme

2016-06-28 Thread Jeffrey A. Muth, JR.
Good Day,I have been searching for hours...I need to make pidgin have a dark
theme as I get digital eye strain easily and pidgin has alot of white space
that hurts my eyes over time. Is there any current information on how to change
the coloring/theme of it? Everything I find is old and outdated as well as it
links to art.gnome.org for personalization and the page that is being discussed
is no longer valid.Thank you for any help provided

How to add Persistent Notifications?

2015-07-30 Thread Jeffrey McClain
I currently have Pidgin setup to "keep buddy list window on top
always."Whenever anyone messages me, the chat window immediately pops up in
front of whatever window i have open (chrome, for example). I like this because
it lets me see new messages immediately.Upon clicking anywhere on the current
window, the Pidgin chat is sent to the background. Again, this is as
expected. My issue is that now if someone messages me, the chat window no longer
pops up to the forefront. There is an occasional flash on the taskbar icon, but
I rarely if ever notice it until minutes later. What I would like is some way to
set up Pidgin notifications so that when i click the current window (chrome for
example) and Pidgin is sent to the background, any subsequent messages (from
that sender or any other) will once again bring Pidgin's chatbox to the
front.P.S.: Sorry in advance if this is already a global option. I have tried
messing around with the "message notification" plugin to no avail. Please help.___

Conversation window buddyicon in taskbar ?

2012-03-10 Thread Jeffrey D. Watson
Greetings !
I'm running Pidgin 2.10.1 on Window Professional (64-bit), is there a way
to configure Pidgin to show the buddyicon of the conversation window on the
taskbar instead of the generic purple pidgeon ? Oddly, when I run Pidgin
from "PortableApps" platform the buddy icon does show up on the taskbar,
but not when I run from a locally installed version. I thought I might be
missing a configuration item.

Thanks.

issues: facebook plugin

2011-03-06 Thread Jeffrey Steben
Dear Pidgin Support,

I'm not sure if you know how to solve my problem because it's with a third
party plugin but I figured I would email you guys and ask anyways. I have
been using the facebook plugin for the linux version of pidgin for a while
and I love that pidgin can do everything that AIM did on my windows machine
but better. My only issue is now when I use pidgin and try to instant
message a facebook friend it comes up with an error within the chat window
that says, "you are not permitted to do that" and will not let me message
them.

I was just wondering if you would happen to know a solution to my issue. If
not could you possibly steer me in the direction of where I could find a
solution?

I really appreciate the help and hope to hear back soon

Thank you,

Jeffrey

With what field label is it being displayed?

-Etan

At the time it was AOL.
I have since deleted his info and tried to reinstall his complete information
but I can't find any way to edit and add his phone number, ie he is back
but not his phone number ( old or new ). I'm thinking he might need to
send me a invitation from his phone in order for me to receive his number,
ie. only he can edit his number?
FYI When I was able to see his old number I could highlite the number field
but it would not edit.

What protocol is this on (AIM/MSN/Yahoo)? I'm going to assume msn given
your email address. Where exactly is the phone number listed for the
buddy?

-Etan

My buddy is using AOL/AIM and his phone number is listed in the info.
box that appears as I roll my cursor across his name on the Buddy List.

disconnecting sessions

2008-07-07 Thread Jeffrey D. Watson

Greetings !
I have a re-occuring problem where the official clients of AIM and Yahoo
stay connecting while our beloved Pidgin disconnects repeatedly. Here's

frequent disconnects on AIM

2008-07-01 Thread Jeffrey D. Watson
Greetings,
On my home network I frequently get dropped from AIM. Since this
doesn't happen at work, I can infer that my home network is a
contributing factor. Yahoo on Pidgin stays up, and if I switch to the
official AIM client that also stays up. I'm looking for suggestions to
debug this further.

Are there any tuneable parameters that would make pidgin less sensitive
to network latency ?
