Some protocols send the timestamp along with the message. It's really

One guy in #pidgin reported that he just had voice working with:

  libnice 0.0.9
  farsight2-0.0.14
  gst-python 0.10.12
  gstreamer 0.10.24
  gst-plugis-base 0.10.24
  gst-plugins-good 0.10.15
  gst-plugins-bad 0.10.13
  gst-plugins-ugly 0.10.12
  gst-ffmpeg 0.10.8

The difference is he seems to have a newer gst-plugins-ugly. I just pointed
him to ##slackware, so maybe he can help you out.

If you don't want it to be saved, don't create a saved status. I think you
want something like:

# find the right account to modify
p = purple.PurpleAccountGetPresence(account)
status = purple.PurplePresenceGetActiveStatus(p)
purple.PurpleStatusSetAttrString(status, "message", "woohoo3")

See the message notification plugin.

The sub status stuff only applies to a saved status, is that what you wish to

winsock error 10051 means you cannot talk to that server. Has something
changed on your network?

Are you sure you are running 2.5.5? This should have been fixed in 2.5.3.

You need to install the dictionary for your current locale as well.

Yes, in the Message Notification plugin's setting, enable notification for
chats too.

You don't want to call register manually, unless you want to create the
account _on the server_, and certainly you don't want to call both.

This is right, the other 3 are not. What happens after you do that? Anything
in the debug log? Maybe try adding the account with PurpleAccountsAdd too.

Asus EEE ships with a very old version of pidgin by default, if they
don't update it then your best bet is build from source or install
another distribution that has a more uptodate version of pidgin.
