AIM wont connect to server

When I try to log into aim through Pidgin I get the error Received
unexpected response from
http://api.oscar.aol.com/aim/startOSCARSession;.

Go to Accounts, Manage Accounts, select account, Advanced, uncheck Use 
clientLogin.

I had to uncheck login with ssl. YMMV
