Re: File transfer and Re: Ticket #3959
Okay, then ban me (rofl, I would just switch to another email adress), cause YOU ARE RETARDED. What's insulting here??? Especially between by the way and bye. I already received a corresponding answer, which helped me a alot. Yours didn't, you obviously got TOO MUCH TIME. Contribute something helpful OR SHUT UP. Would you prefer the attitude that prevails in call centres dealing with the general public, where all the answers are extremely polite, but the agents then laugh over their clients behind their backs, amongst themselves, or even send those who appear to have least clue, but are demanding, on wild goose chases, but still in very polite terms. It is quite possible to provide a meaningful support experience on this list without resorting to the kind of behavior Dagobert has expressed and you seem to be in favor of. If we have to, we will restrict list membership to those who we know will provide polite, useful responses. We'd prefer not to restrict membership, as the lack of restrictions increases our likelihood of finding new people to help with user support. If you restrict people's ability to express their feelings in their replies, you are likely to lose the people who really know what they are talking about. If people are offended by the requirement that they *not* be insulting, rude, or disrespectful, then I am quite happy to have chased them away. If you can't be polite, respecful, and helpful when responding to posts to this list, you do not belong here. File transfer and Re: Ticket #3959
The file transfer isn't working for me anyway somehow for instance (icq-protocol). Always get that cairo error and then pidgin crashes. Tried almost everything. So better FIX this, before thinking about extending this basic feature. By the way, zipping/unzipping takes time? What do you want to transfer via AIM?? Gigabytes of data??? I mean, it would probably work, but therefor you should definitely use something else. Bye, Dagobert The text in this paragraph starting with By the way and ending with Bye is insulting, disrespectful, and rude. This kind of behavior is unacceptible on this mailing list. Ethan has already called you out on this behavior once. Since you have ignored his perfectly reasonable request to quit displaying such insulting and disrespectful behavior to people on this list, I will say this once and only once--drop the behavior and learn to play nice on this list or I will remove and ban you from this list. I will also ban you from our other mailing lists. We have now given you two chances--you will *not* get a third.
