Pidgin does have a log viewer, it's easy to bring up and if you've
enabled logging, you'll find chat logs (I recommend plain-text logging
as HTML just unnecessarily bloats the log file). I'm not sure it will be
real time, but um, what's the point in viewing chat logs in real time?
If you're adding to the log in an active discussion, the active chat
window could be described as a real time log viewer.

Hope this helps.

I am researching different messaging services for a trader. The

markets are if they all apear in one window rather than checking all
50 chat conversations to see where other products are quoted.

Thank you for your help though.

You're welcome and sorry to hear that Pidgin doesn't meet your needs.
There might be someone who might have a fix for ya, though, so don't

I will note; the History plugin might help your needs, it will display
the previous chat's history in the same window as the current chat, only
per user; also, the closest thing I can think of that will give you all
the history in the way you want it is the Transcript Viewer in Adium,
which is really similar to that of Pidgins, although a bit more robust.

Good luck with your search :)

Help Logging all conversation History

2010-01-27 Thread Katelyn Seager
I was wondering if it is possible on pidgin to have a running IM
window that shows all chat history with every user. I currently have
a subscription to a yellowjacket chatting service and I was hoping to
find the same functionality in pidgin.

Thank you for the help.
