Apparently yahoo has a new protocol called rocketmail.
Is this supported by Pidgin...?

the @rocketmail.com in their email addresses, although an
@rocketmail.com address was not an option for people signing up for a
new email account at Yahoo.com from 1997 until June of 2008. New email
accounts from Yahoo! can now be @yahoo.com, @ymail.com, or @rocketmail.com."

I imagine that your @rocketmail.com address will work fine with the
Yahoo protocol.
