Hello Peter,

A short history here might help locate the problem since I have the same
icon display on my Win XP Pro.
My HTML document icons were all the same (SeaMonkey) until I tried the
former IE7 Beta release for testing display compatibility. As soon as I
installed and opened the IE7 Beta all the HTML type document icons
changed to the IE icon.

Performing the steps you described should have corrected the problem,
but IE still had icon control.
Using Windows Explorer from the root folder (C:\ ), and selecting Folder
Options and File Types allowed me to change the icons for all HTML
document types (HTM, HTML, SHTML, etc.), but the only icon that really
changed in Windows Explorer was the .SHTML file type.

This is not a big problem for me because I compose HTML documents as
both HTML and SHTML for web servers and this quirk makes it real easy to
sort and identify file types in a Windows Explorer type display.

It seems the problem originated with IE7 and is embedded into the
Windows Registry somewhere and that can be hazardous to correct.

Welcome to the world of Macs!!

SeaMonkey Composer can edit web sites, though, since you have been using
Front Page, you most likely have a lot of Microsoft specific code on the
pages.

Before proceeding, take a look at your web sites in both SeaMonkey and
Safari. If they are displaying as you want, then proceed.

All you really have to do is open Composer, which can be dome from the
menubar, which, on a Mac, is detached from the application window.
Click Window>>Composer. You can also open it from the Component Bar,
which is at the lower left of the SeaMonkey window, in the status bar.

With Composer open, click File>>Open File, then browse to the location
of your local copy of your web pages. Pick the one you wish to edit and
open it.

If you are making minor changes, text changes for example, it ought to
work fine. If you have been using the Front Page extensions, you will
likely have a problem. Still, give a try and see what happens.

Worry not, Mac's are most certainly supported. I'm running 2.0a3 on a Mac.

I believe most of the work now is going on in the 2.0 branch. Anything
on 1.1.x is security related only.

I believe you only need to Open each of the web site pages in
SeaMonkey, then under the file menu you would click on edit the file,
and start editing the pages and save them to your desktop. You will
then own the pages and can publish them.

The other option is to use an FTP client to DL all the files from the

them again.

Look atMS-DOS name:

This issue seems to be a hot button with no solutionyet.

Does anyone know to drop an *.HTML file into Craigslist?

Upload it to the space you ISP gives you
or get a Blogger.com account.
Within your ad, link to it that.

(I wish more people would use a similar technique
rather than sending HTML pages via email.)

Thanks.
I created a site and with much effort posted what I wanted.
Almost makes me want to start my own domain.

Linux's SeaMonkey freezes after saving a file.

2009-03-15 Thread Ant
Since I had to dump Debian's IceApe a few weeks ago, I had to install
SeaMonkey (SM) v1.1.4 from
seamonkey-1.1.14.en-US.linux-i686.installer.tar.gz into
/home/Programs/seamonkey/ ... Mostly everything works, but I noticed
saving files cause SM to freeze hard. CPU usage is in used from SM.

I have to kill its three processes through KDE v3.5.10's terminal since
regular kills weren't enough. At first, I thought it was the old
SessionSaver extension but I was still able to reproduce the freeze. I

I tried to use strace but it seems to stop when SM loads a Web page and
doesn't output anymore.

Any ideas? Thank you in advance. :)
