Better use this as source of information:

Yes, I have been waiting to drop support for SeaMonkey 1.1.x for a
very long time - most importantly because of the horribly outdated
extension installer. I hoped to see SeaMonkey 2.0 released before that
but this will take half a year longer from what I can tell (there is
no real roadmap and I didn't even get an approximate answer when I
nagged KaiRo about this). There was really tons of compatibility code
in Adblock Plus that was blocking important code refactoring, I
couldn't wait any longer. I hope that by the time I release Adblock
Plus 1.1 SeaMonkey 2.0b1 will be out - I will recommend upgrading to
this release. Stable or not, it will be much better than SeaMonkey
1.1. Of course, staying with Adblock Plus 1.0.2 will be another option.

Default Page-setup keeps changing from portrait to landscape.

2009-05-22 Thread news.mozilla.org
I have a user that from time to time will call and say that Sea Monkey
has changed the default setting of Portrait in Page Setup/ Format &
Layout to Landscape. This becomes an issue when she tries to print via
navigator. The page she is printing works normally after I have reset it
back to portrait in page setup however, a few days later the setting
goes back to landscape, she will go to print something and then I will
get a call asking me why Sea Monkey keeps changing back to Landscape.

I have not been able to find anything in about:config or pres.js or
user.js or chrome, that specifies this setting.

Is there somewhere I can force it to always print portrait? or at least
make it so it will not change.

If this topic has been discussed before I apologize for any duplicate

Me as well, but reality sucks. This time it looks like Thunderbird plans

The problem is that we don't have a clear roadmap ourselves. I made one

would have released right about now, a few weeks after the then-planned
Thunderbird 3 release. I'm not sure what's better - pushing back the
plans for a few weeks every month like Thunderbird does or not
publishing a plan right away like us. Both end up in being too late, as
we can see perfectly in this example.

Stable or not, it [2.0b1] will be much better than SeaMonkey

I actually do agree. We can't officially call something stable that has
no stable mailnews core and has some polish still to be done, but I'm
pretty sure that 2.0b1 will actually be better than 1.1.16 or 1.1.17 in

I frequently have this problem too -- when I select "landscape" instead of "portrait," or pick a fixed scaling size in the Print Preview window, that setting sticks and has to be reset manually. Don't know why and haven't found a way to fix it, other than resetting things in Page Setup / Format.
