Re: Get Msgs Icon

2011-12-19 Thread clis...@charter.net
Jens,

Thank you for your reply. So, there is no way to make the Get Messages button
default to get messages for all email addresses, right?

Interesting items on your Custom Buttons page. Could you outline the steps to
get one, or more, of these Custom Buttons to work?

Here's how I see it:
1. Put the JHBF.jsm file in the SeaMonkey folder; but where?
2. Copy the loadJHBF.js code to the front of a desired buttons code.

Where do I put the new .js (desired button) code, or does it go in
userChrome.css?

Thanks again for your help.

Yep!

Mousing: File\Get New Messages for>\all accounts

Keyboard: Alt-FWA

or: Ctrl-Shft-D

Where did Ctrl-Shift-D come from? That's a great shortcut, but I don't
see it listed anywhere.

Windows XP-Pro, SM 2.5 Modern theme.

In SeaMonkey, if you do File | Get New Messages for..., the first option
is "All Accounts Ctrl-Shift-D."

Don't get no more obvious 'n that. 'T's where I larned it.

Okay, I didn't know this was a problem.

I set up one email account,
then I had a question about moving my local folders,so I added the
newsgroup.

Now, every time I try to add an account, seamonkey tries to add a news
server... when I want to add an email account.

This is a known issue, described in the release notes:

http://www.seamonkey-project.org/releases/seamonkey2.5/

More details here:

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=521861

The *simple* workaround for this is to delete the news account.

A more complex workaround, not involving deleting the news account, is
composed of the following steps:

a) Open about:config
b) type "nntp" in the search box
c) You will see perhaps a half a dozen lines (exact number depends on
your setup), one or two of which begin by "mail.server.server" followed
by a number (for instance, "mail.server.server5") Note this number, you
will need it below. If there's more than one line, try the higher number
first.
d) Right-click somewhere in the empty area and select "New," "Boolean".
In the "Enter the preference name" dialog, type
"mail.server.serverX.valid" (where X is the number you found in the
previous step). For instance, in my example, the preference name would
be "mail.server.server5.valid".
e) Set this pref to "True."
f) Test

This is an Old Old old Bug that goes all the way back SM 1.x series
Mozilla has never ever attempted to fix. If I remember correctly I
started a discussion about in in SeaMonkey group back in the days Of
Sm 1.5 series of SM. If the bugzilla folks will look there probably a
bug about it that goes back that far or even further. a Bunch of
dicussion happened but no suggestion for a Fix. And it doesn't just
apply to newsgroups. there is a Similar bug related to Mail boxes as
well.

I refer to another problem, when they said that to be able to correct a
bug, they need a reproductible case. For this bug, they have a
reproductible case conclude yourself

Tree Style Tab replacement for SeaMonkey?

2011-12-19 Thread Ruben Schade
Hi everyone! Just transferred to SeaMonkey given I didn't like the
direction Thunderbird was headed. Has been a more than capable
replacement and am enjoying using it.

To replace Firefox for my web browsing though, I really need a
replacement for Tree Style Tab which reports it's not compatible. A
cursory search on the addons.mozilla.org site was fruitless.

Anyone know of any extensions that would allow me to have my tabs
stacked on the side, or any tricks to get one for Firefox installed on
SeaMonkey? I'm new to this software, but would love to use it for web as
well as email and newsgroups.

Thanks :)

Check Account Settings/Server Settings/the "Advanced" button. If you are
using a global Inbox for all your accounts, it's possible that the
option "Include this server when getting new mail" is not tagged for
some of them.

Re: Can't get the latest downloaded Adobe Flash v11 plugin to work in my SM v2.5 web browser in 64-bit Debian...

On 12/18/2011 10:29 AM PT, Ant typed:

I e-mailed pkg-mozilla-maintain...@lists.alioth.debian.org to confirm
this. This 32-bit and 64-bit stuff is confusing! Heh.

I got an e-mail reply from Mike Hommey about IceApe for Debian
overnight. It is confirmed that my Iceweasel installation is 64-bit for
my new 64-bit Debian installation:

- - Is your iceweasel Debian package from "deb http://mozilla.debian.net/
- - squeeze-backports iceweasel-3.6" 32-bit or 64-bit in 64-bit Debian
- - stable system? How can one tell and use 32-bit/64-bit package?
-
- There are both, and your system will pick one according to what your
- system is.
...

I also asked about Iceape's future for Debian:
- - - - Will http://mozilla.debian.net/ ever have the latest IceApe
versions for

- - - - Debian stable?
- - -
- - - Most probably when there will be the latest Iceape in unstable.
Which is

- - - not the case at the moment.
- -
- - Thanks Mike. Yeah, I didn't see it in http://mozilla.debian.net/ ... Do
- - you have any ideas when it will happen?
-
- When it's ready. Probably some time next month.
...

Cool, but it will probably be too late since I have my downloaded
Mozilla's SM2 copy working now.
