Good luck with that. Maybe in about:config, but I wouldn't know where
to look.

This is in mimeTypes.rdf . For a human being, this file is a mess, but
it is manageable nevertheless.

O.K., Lucas, any further clues, because in about:config, there are four

type setting.

Is mimeTypes.rdf a text file?? Doing a search here in my Win7 install
(where my profile is), I've got no listing for mimeTypes.rdf.

On my Win7 system, it's under .default (the profile root), where
is a random alphanumeric string generated by SM at creation of
the profile.

Good try, Paul, but I custom installed my profile a long time ago, so it
is in C:\Internet\Profile\Mail\mail.albury.net.au and I still don't see
any mention of mimeTypes.rdf (in fact Win7 search shows nothing called
"mim" or further!).

Maybe I don't have one!

In SM Prefs->Browser->Helper Applications, The three Adobe Acrobat

I do have the FF extension PDF Viewer 0.8.1, which says it "Uses HTML5
to display PDF files directly in FireFox". O.K., I know SM is not FF,
but I think I got the extension from the SM extensions site, so should
this mean SM should use this extension to display a PDF in a browser

Just tested, and PDF Viewer displays the PDF I tested just fine in SM
2.17.1.

Never having installed Adobe, I don't have anything listed in Helper
Applications for PDF's.

It doesn't even show the Firefox setting of Portable Document Format
(PDF) Preview in Firefox, which should be Preview in SeaMonkey for this
case. Strange.

Try a new profile.

O.K., then if it works for you, Walt, I'll have to try to get rid of the
Helper Application listing of Adobe then!!

Thanks for checking.

Edit - Preferences - Browser - Helper Applications

No need for about:config

Like I mentioned Ed. I have nothing in Helper Applications for Portable
Document Format (PDF), and the extension works just fine.

I also don't see a way to delete a Content Type from Helper Applications.

I still think he should try a new profile.

Hmm. You're right. You'd have to do it in the OS I suppose. In Windows
you either need a third-party utility or you need to edit the registry
to delete a file type/association.

Good luck with that. Maybe in about:config, but I wouldn't know where

This is in mimeTypes.rdf . For a human being, this file is a mess, but
it is manageable nevertheless.
