As I say, minor point, but as shown in the "Alternate layout for

have to go looking for the pref to turn this tabs line off!

Known regression, fix will be in next update; see bug 902312.

Tks, Neil.

Re: *Update* Re: re-installing SM Quick Question...

Hello all,

I have had to just re-install my W8 and had my SM files on another
drive, I cannot figure out how to get my emails and settings back to the
previous state, if at all possible???

Please guide me, if possible or do I need to start from the beginning?
Especially with emails...

TIA - SamuelS

I found that I was NOT clear in the original post and for this I do
apologize...

What it needs to say is, my SM files are on disk d, disk c had W8
reinstalled which requires re-installation of many/most programs. I can
see the 'Mozilla' folder when using explorer, but when trying to direct
SM to use that folder on disk d, it is not seen by the program.

Is there a way to remedy this, in terms of re-installing SM, getting the
original settings or is this a lost cause and need to start from scratch
again with installation and etc.???

Sorry for the unclear original post.

TIA,

Samuel, there are at least two options,...

1	If you are happy to use the files on the D:\, whilst installing your
SeaMonkey on your C:\, do a normal install and then select Tools->Switch
Profiles->Manage Profiles and create a new profile and on the second
screen (I think), where you get to name the profile and choose its
location, and point to the folder on the D:\ which contains your
profile, i.e. if you old prefs.js file is located at
D:\programs\things\stuff\prefs.js, point your new profile to
D:\programs\things\stuff\

2.	Alternatively, if you want your profile on the C:\, move/copy the
profile files from D:\ to somewhere on C:\ and then select Tools->Switch
Profiles->Manage Profiles and create a new profile and on the second
screen (I think), where you get to name the profile and choose its
location, point to the folder on the C:\ which contains your profile,

Mail & News Screens tabs

2013-10-23 Thread Daniel

Really minor change

As noted in sig file, I've just installed SM 2.22b1 on my Linux x86_64,
and when I started, it came up on the Mail & News screen, as it should,
but is showing a TABS line between the "Get Msgs Compose Reply "
line and the actual Accounts/Threads panes.

As I say, minor point, but as shown in the "Alternate layout for
Mail/News Screen", I consider my display space as valuable. Guess I'll
have to go looking for the pref to turn this tabs line off!

As for the Accounts pane, I refer you to my earlier post in this

1) On my 16:9 monitor, with less than two inches allocated for

characters of Subject, From, Date, Status, etc. In 99% of the
cases, that's enough.

Yeap, sorry, and I think that was about 20 hours ago, not four (I
think)

Your message to which I refer was at Tue, 22 Oct 2013 00:27:38 +1100,
and your earlier post was at Tue, 22 Oct 2013 20:36:06 +1100. On Aussie
time, they're clearly 20 hours apart, but after conversion to U.S.
Eastern Time, they looked like they were four hours apart when I
overlooked the date change (5:36 AM and 9:27 AM on different days).

But wouldn't later one have just been hh:mm and the earlier one date and
hh:mm?? Oh, hand-on, guess it depends how you are set up!

Not that it matters!!

You must have your font size set smaller than my 12pt!

I guess...
