Showing wrong icon
I installed the new SeaMonkey version (v2.29) yesterday. And since then the icon shown in my taskbar doesn't show the main Seamonkey-icon, but it shows the mailnews-icon, even when I open just the browser (not touching mailnews-part yet). maybe a bug: sessionstore.json empty when session starts with DropBox link
Hello all, today I had a problem because SeaMonkey was started following a link to a shared folder on my DropBox menu, and it only showed one window with the shared content and nothing else! I usually have 6/7 windows, each with several tabs, but the sessionstore.json file was blank. I think this is a bug. Trane Francks wrote: Unless my commercial webhost turned something on, no. There is nothing being added to the subject line, they are just going in to SM's junk folder. It's infrequent enough that I haven't gotten any of these on my laptop, although I do have everything forwarding to gmail so will check there. Junk mail training is an ongoing process. Any time SeaMonkey marks good mail as junk, be sure to unmark it. Any mail that comes in that is junk but not correctly filtered, be sure to mark it as junk. I rarely have the situation where SM marks good mail as junk, so I've never been able to follow this official advice on how to properly train the junk detection system: Junk processing must be well *trained* for it to work correctly. Training involves marking many messages as junk and many messages as not junk. It is important to mark *both types of messages*, both good and bad, not just the ones that are junk. *Initially*, incoming messages might not be accurately junked because you have not trained it enough. 1. Check your Junk folder to see if any non-junk messages have been detected as junk, and mark non-junk ones as not junk. 2. Bayesian filtering requires at least 100 bad messages be marked as spam and 100 good messages marked as not junk to function. To work best, it needs a few hundred of each marked. * If you mark a thousand spam messages but do not mark legitimate messages, or very few, it won't work well. * It's best to mark *different types* of messages good and bad - marking 500 messages from the same source is not as good as marking 500 messages from different people. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Junk_Mail_Controls ___ support-seamonkey mailing list support-seamonkey@lists.mozilla.org https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/support-seamonkey

I expect the settings are the same for Win7, but will actually check tomorrow. Tonight I'm on Win7 using SM2.29b1 (I've already d/l'ed b2) and, as I suspected... 1. At Edit - Preferences - Browser - Downloads, I have Always ask me where to save files selected, and, 2. At Edit - Preferences - Browser - Helper Applications I have Bzip archive, Gzip archive and Zip archive file types set to Always Ask. Just in case, you know, you never know, I'll set Edit - Preferences - Browser - Downloads to the other setting, close SM, and then tomorrow I'll re-download Linux SM2.29b2 and hope it goes to the Download folder, then I'll reset to the Always Ask setting, re-boot SM and try again. ;-( Here I am, having re-boot SM and downloaded Linux SM2.29b2 again. This time I had SM set up to save Downloads to the Download folder, which I did *and* the Download Manager opened up, as it should, to show me the downloads progress. Now I'll re-set to Always Ask and see what happens. :-) Re-boot SM, went to http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/seamonkey/releases/2.29b2/contrib/ and, sure enough, with the Always Ask pre-selected, I *did not* get the second screen asking where I wanted to save the file, *nor* did the Download Manager open up!! Sorry, Ray, just to make it absolutely clear to me, 1. At Edit_Preferences-Browser-Downloads, under When saving a file do you have Always ask me selected, and, YES 2. When then clicking on the file link above, do you mean you got the small window giving you the option to Open with . or to Save File, and then selecting Save File, you get another small screen asking where on your hard disk you want to save the file?? YES, and then YES also. Well, why isn't my system doing that??? Grrr!! :-( Thanks for trying, Ray Close SeaMonkey, go into your profile folder and * rename * 'mimeTypes.rdf' to mimeTypes.rdf_bak. Restart SeaMonkey and then try the link. You should then get the popup allowing you to select always ask. In the newly created mimeTypes.rdf file you then should find an entry similar to this: /RDF:Description RDF:Description RDF:about=urn:mimetype:handler:application/x-bzip NC:alwaysAsk=true NC:saveToDisk=true NC:externalApplication RDF:resource=urn:mimetype:externalApplication:application/x-bzip/ NoOp, should I be worried that I don't have a 'mimeTypes.rdf' anywhere on my Windows 7 hard drives??
