MOZILLA does not offer a secure connection to its NNTP server currently.
Ask on port 563 and you won't get an IP paket back. Try

ETERNAL-SEPTEMBER can securely accessed with two easy steps:

0. Check
> telnet reader443.eternal-september.org 443
After some time you will get a "400 SSL connection failed" message.
This is a good sign because the server tried to establish a secure
connection.

1. Account
Set up a news account in Seamonkey for reader443.eternal-september.org
and port 443.

When you now try to manage your subscriptions the list of news groups is
empty.

2. Certificate
In Seamonkey open Preferences > Privacy & Security > Ceritifcates >

https://reader443.eternal-september.org in Location. Click Get
Certificate. You will get a "Wrong Site" warning in the dialog box.

Yes, I know about the problem extension to save passwords. Yes, various

entry upon logging in.

I am still on SeaMonkey 2.31, and it isn't my default browser so I don't
have many usernames or passwords saved.

I went to the mozillaZine site. Entered my username and password,
clicked the Login button and was presented with this warning.

http://imgur.com/SGz9nUa

Clicking continue in that warning logged me in, but I wasn't asked to
save the information. Proving #1 for that site.

I went to my other news servers web site which I have a L/I and P/W
saved in SeaMonkey. It did not autofill the password when I entered the
user name. I was asked if I wanted to save this information, which I did.

That disproves #1 and confirms #2

Removed the old Password Manager entry, restarted SeaMonkey, went to the
site, clicked the User login link and the data was autofilled.

Confirming #4 for that site.

My Verizon login works.

Disproving #5 for that site.

I'm done testing. It is all too confusing for me.

Switch to Firefox and install the Secure Login extension.

Dito not so, WFM. If you have more than one userid/password saved for

Yes.

Maybe so, sounds like and extended login used by financial websites. If,
so you'd be crazy to autofill logins to anything connected to your money
IMO. It is the one area you should never, ever, auto login. Use a good
*unique* password for each and always manually enter your credentials.

I have used the Composer a lot in the past, because it's convenient for
quick/dirty updates to HTML content. However, knowing that it isn't
supported anymore, and experiencing just enough occasional quirks
(particularly in deleting rows from tables), I've gotten in the habit of
using Komposer far more often, where the user interface is nearly
identical. Among other things, I've found that Komposer produces
cleaner HTML, including no big (apparently random) blocks of white
space, and files that are noticeably smaller.

I have Lightning installed, but don't really use it, because I haven't
found a tool that will sync with my Android phone, other than the
for-pay BirdieSync, or having to coordinate through Google Calendar.

Hello,

When will you fix the bug appeared since 2.30 version.

On Windows 7 32-bit French, no character at all (either letters or numbers)
even in the menus.

Mailing has the same problem and composer and addressbook too.

I am always obliged to roll back to 2.29.1 which is the latest version that
works correctly.

2.32 is working fine in safe mode. But no plugin or addon available.

Note : I always have my updates from the Seamonkey Official Site.

Regards

I don't think it is related. The security exceptions dialog does not even
show up.

Error console shows nothing regarding this problem. It is just silently
ignored.

Perhaps https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=966689 ?

What is shown in the Error Console?
