Which newsgroup? Almost all request plain-text.

Microsoft Answers. Using the NNTP Bridge. Basically, the newsgroup
is a

back door. What is posted in the newsgroup ends up in the Web forum.

Been posting replies in MS newsgroups/forums since 2004.

Microsoft Answers is NOT a newsgroup. It appears to be a Web-based
forum. You mention an NNTP bridge. What is the NAME of the NEWSGROUP
at the NNTP end of that bridge?

You're correct. Microsoft answers is not a newsgroup. MS dropped the
newsgroups in 2009 and created MS Answers to replace them.

If you were familiar with the old MS newsgroups, they were the focal
point. Someone came up with adapting the newsgroups with what was called
the CDO for Window. It was the Web end of the newsgroups. What we have
now is exactly the opposite.

The server name if you were to set it up is simply 127.0.0.1 using
Port 120.

Here is a screenshot of my folder tree. 127.0.0.1 is named Answers.
(Sorry, you have to copy & paste the link).

As in my reply to Burry:

The NNTP Bridge
http://communitybridge2.codeplex.com/

Hm.. That aint no newsgroup.

Anyway, he use the news part of SM to communicate.
So his question is correct: "Anyway to get rid of the "Ask me" prompt? "

I think you will have to file a bug report.

I just tested your settings (except for adding the group to the HTML

SM 2.35 will not run, just exits

2015-10-22 Thread Philip
My Fedora 21 based, SM 2.35 will not start, it just exits immediately
with no error messages or warnings. seamonkey --help prints something,
but that is about it. I cannot get it to start the profile manager or
anything else.

I have tried moving my ".mozilla" directory to a backup and emptying the
.cache/seamokey directory, but the problem persists.

If a create a new user login account and copy my profile over to the new
login profile, SM starts up fine and I can access my mail and bookmarks.

There must be something else in the original login account that is
causing the problem. Anyone know what that could be?

I created a second login account on my Fedora 21 desktop computer. That

Bolding means "unread," lack of bolding means "read." You can toggle
them by pressing the letter "M" or right-clicking the message line and
choosing "Mark... As Read."

As for underlining, I only see underlining when a thread containing one
or more unread messages is collapsed; when I expand it, each message is
either bold (unread) or plain (read) and none are underlined.

And of course with my settings (View | Threads | Threads with Unread),
threads with no unread messages are not shown. They vanish as soon as I
navigate away from the newsgroup, but not while I'm still there.
