Very familiar what who and what they are. Have been editing subtitles
for them for two-and-a-half years, right up to last night.

Aside from displaying a rather rude "Please upgrade your browser"
window on every page, that may be dismissed, the site seems to work.

Have you tried Safe Mode? You didn't mention that.

Will give that a try out of curiosity, but I'd still like to know what's
going on and how to return to the previous normal functionality.

{"error":"not found","vcode":8500}

Source and meaning of error message are unknown to me.

Revealing page source (CTRL-U) is not helpful; that's the entire source
code.

No trouble (page loads normally) on other devices or other browsers.

Clearing cache and cookies, restarting SM has no effect.

Rebooting computer has no effect.

Other websites are unaffected.

Disabling AdBlock Plus everywhere has no effect.

Thanks.

Help from my peppermintOS support forum led me to switch from the NPAPI

gone, but attempting to verify which version of fflash was installed
called up the 100% usage and another crash from within Seamonkey, but
not Firefox, nor Chromium...

Now go here:

or here:
https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player.html

and check it says:-
You have version 24,0,0,221 installed

this should NOT be a problem for me as my machine has a brand spanking
new processor...
