Add-On "Go Parent Folder" does not work with current SM 2.53 

2019-01-03 Thread Rainer Bielefeld

Hi all,

any Idea why that add-on does no longer work with
Unofficial SeaMonkey 2.53 by user wg9s ? The
option will not be shown in the context menu with current 2.53, but
works fine with 2.53 from 2017 (same user profile).

And how to fix that in the add-on?

And from where that add-on can be downloaded nowadays?

Mozilla and Thunderbird

2019-01-03 Thread Paul Bergsagel

I just read an article on ZDNet

(https://www.zdnet.com/article/mozilla-open-source-thunderbird-getting-new-look-better-gmail-support-encryption/?ftag=TRE-03-10aaa6b=19709119134809512170913331413282)

It seems Mozilla has renewed interest in the Thunderbird email client.
Mozilla has even hired six new programmers to work on Mozilla.

Does anyone have any ideas how this move might effect SeaMonkey? Will
SeaMonkey be able to benefit from improvements/modernizations to
Thunderbird's code?

Do you think this move might effect SeaMonkey in any way?

I wouldn't mind if there were an advert in some of the blank space in
the U.I. Just posting this I see much blank space to the right of the
button icons at the top. Maybe it would be possible to find a generous
sponsor. No spying though.

Congratulations. You just gave Kaspersky permissions to read all your
encrypted communication when using Seamonkey. That includes every
password you send to a server to login to a web site. I'd hope you do
have a lot of faith in Kaspersky.
