Re: Does SeaMonkey have a sync feature like in Firefox?
Ant wrote: To share my bookmarks, histories, etc. between multiple devices (e.g., Windows, Linux, iOS, etc.)? Sharing bookmarks is really important to me. I've tried a few third-party alternatives for that purpose; the one that works best for me is Everhelper: https://www.everhelper.me/synchronizer.php Everhelper also works with Firefox & Chrome -- both of which I dislike, but have to use more and more often to reach all the sites I access regularly. And it works with Android too. But Everhelper won't help with histories, etc.; and it's definitely not free, nor trouble-free... ___ support-seamonkey mailing list support-seamonkey@lists.mozilla.org https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/support-seamonkey

All they had to do was click the damn button, then click it again when they went back to the Mail and Calendar tabs. I wonder how many lines of code they had to add and will have to maintain for that new feature. Thanks, but I'd have to learn how to code, build, test and whatever. -- OS: Ubuntu Linux 18.04LTS - Gnome Desktop https://www.thunderbird.net/en-US/get-involved/ ___ support-seamonkey mailing list support-seamonkey@lists.mozilla.org https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/support-seamonkey

Where did you change the port number? I have my ISP's email account setup in the SeaMonkey Mail & Newsgroups window. To change the port setting for the SMTP server I would select the account name in the Folder pane. Click the "View settings for this account" link. Select "Outgoing Server (SMTP). Click the "Edit..." button. You might want to check that you have "Connection Security" set to "SSL/TLS", and "Authentication method" set to "Normal Password". You would use the same password you use to connect to the ISP account on web mail. Hope that helps. ___ support-seamonkey mailing list support-seamonkey@lists.mozilla.org https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/support-seamonkey

Important changes are mentioned in the files 'notiz' in the different subfolders. They relate to changes regarding the previous version. It may be necessary to set certain prefs for a successful installation. Since I had no problems to test that in a fresh profile in SM-2.53.1 those prefs seem to have the required default values there. Don't know about SM-2.49.x, but AFAIR someone has mentioned to still use the .h2. The .h4 should be downward compatible to the .h2. Should. ;) Remember, the modifications are intended for private use only. They don't suffice for the current TB and may not suffice for the upcoming SM-2.57. In the latter case it is possible that there will be a .h5. The 'notiz' then will probably only contain 'many changes'. :) Hartmut ___ support-seamonkey mailing list support-seamonkey@lists.mozilla.org https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/support-seamonkey

Thank you for reading and hopefully answering. :) This has been broken for ages. Might be possible to set up your own Sync 1.1 server in 2.49.5. The 1.1 code was removed in later Gecko versions. There is a bug open to fix it and support 1.5 but this needs a Firefox account. Personally I don't think sync 1.5 will ever happen and I would rather restore 1.1 in 2.53 and up versions. Then we can decide if we should set up our own sync 1.1 server. Either way help welcome :) Oh, darn it. :( +1 -- Gerard-Jan Vinkesteijn-Rudersdorff https://facebook.com/gerardjan.vinkesteijn If A equals success, then the formula is A = X + Y + Z. X is work.
