Are you sure it was a preference and not a certificate?  Preferences do
not expire.

You are, of course, correct. It was cookies, not preferences. A couple
of cookies expired in the last day or so. Do they matter in terms of
access to the Web site? (My access to Fox News was o.k. until today.)

Larry

It may be something other than cookies. My cookies are session cookies
only and I can view Fox News ok. At the end of each session they are
all deleted. You could try changing your UA string to Firefox 72.0.1
instead of FF 52.0 and see if it helps.

The password manager problem is covered in the release notes since some

If you experience a hang and/or get a message box that a script is busy

data stored by web sites and will be recreated during the next start. If
you are unsure if the information is needed please back up the files
before deleting them. The problem is tracked in bug 1305624 but so far
no coding error has been found. This problem is been reported frequently
when trying to manage passwords. But the problem will generally happen
just after you open the Data Manager, because this component is also
used for managing cookies, site preferences permissions and other settings.

Might well be that a site tries to save to local storage or request a
password which probbaly will fail then too.

Any chance any of you having this issue are still using Adblock Plus
2.9.1 ? I also have been having constant script stopped working errors
and browser hangs. Often I get the BSOD from these. Some googling has
lead me to believe that it may be incompatibility with ABP. I'm going to
try to change to uBlock or whatever it is called before updating to the
just released version of SM.

That step was required for an older version of apulse. It was not
necessary anymore with apulse-0.1.12-r4.

Ctrl-D is apparently being altered.  I was willing to except what I am

The Ctrl-D function in recent SM, WG9 and Pale Moon are all unusable but

Well, thanks to the Puppy Linux Forums (I love those guys)...simply
starting seamonkey from a terminal like so:

apulse seamonkey
forces seamonkey to load with the appropriate drivers used as a
workaround for pulseaudio in Puppy Linux. Sound now working.

I had in the browser. With apulse-0.1.12-r4. Gentoo mostly stable.

Waterfox 2020.02 has sound...I'm perplexed. Any ideas?

I do not know about waterfox. alsa with apulse? Be that as it may. I had
no sound regarding mail notification. Very annoying. So I decided a few
days ago to install pulseaudio on top of alsa.

That required to get rid of apulse. After a few tweaks I am now content.

After going through my entire list of settings, I found out that the

privacy.resistFingerprinting - if set to true
I have no idea what that has to do with changing my user-agent, but the
user-agent is now normal after changing the setting to false.

IE Tab 2 does not work normally with 2.53.1 as it did in 2.49.5. But I
determined if you change the default application within Tab 2 from IE to
Edge, you can still make it work by pressing CTRL and the Tab 2 icon. It
