Re: Single mouse click acts like double click

2020-04-06 Thread Mike C

Whoops...
Problem started again.
Switched to a corded Logitech I had laying around.
Don't know how long I've had it, BUT it looks like new.

I'll let you know in a few days if problem is cured.

This ONLY happens on SM Mail.

Anyone ever hear of this?

The only times I had this happen, the mouse was at the early stage of
failing.

If it is a wireless mouse, try changing the battery. If it is a wired
mouse, try unplugging and then plugging it back again. Also, if the
mouse can be opened, try cleaning inside.

Your mouse might still be in the early stages of dying. If the problem
occurs again, replace the mouse.

I think I am on my third mouse with my current PC. When the first one
died -- and it was truly dead -- I told my wife that I had a dead mouse.
She screamed! She though I had a dead rodent.

My second mouse did not last very long. I forget what brand it was.

I noticed that my wife had her original PC mouse from about 2010. It
was a wired Logitech (model SA-28A, no longer available). I got a wired
Logitech in 2014 (model M100, still available and Logitech's least
expensive). My wife still has her original 10-year-old mouse, and my
6-year-old mouse is still good.

Note that I too have a wired mouse. I really do not want to deal with
batteries going dead, especially if I have no replacement battery on
hand. Today, with stay-at-home orders, I do not want to leave the house
to buy a new mouse battery.

Voting or subscribing actually doesn't work, althrough it appears it does. Just
subscribe and give thumbs up to video or comment, refresh and your actions are
gone. Also if you open developer tools and watch XHR requests your actions will
end up with 401 (unauthorized).

A few things are better, but clicking the notification bell and the user thing
in the upper right hand corner still gets the never ending loading circle.

Navigating away from the home page still has many of the same problems. I

Yes there is because they are version specific.

And there are reasons for a single profile for multiple app versions. One
time, when looking for the date and time of a bug insertion I was using the
same profile for twenty versions of SM, all loaded on the HDD side-by-side.

Sorry you don't get it. This is not supported and breaks functionality. It now
shows with 2.53.1 but was the case before. In every version migration routines
run. They know how to fix backward stuff from a few previous versions but
because time travel is not supported during code generation they know nothing
about future changes.

The guy said he lost his passwords when going back to 2.49.5. Not because of
magic elves taking them away but because profile got upgraded and files
deleted / changed. In this case you history is gone too and indexdb storage
unusable. And going back some more versions and your cache gets corrupted. On
going back to 2.35.1 you host permissions are reset and so on.

It is ok to be stubborn as long as you are not wrong. In this case you are
dead wrong. EOM

The fix is, get the profile(s) away from the app, to a neutral place, on
