Mozilla is shutting down the newsgroup server (news.mozilla.org) and
mailing lists (list.mozilla.org).

The three new groups

alt.comp.software.firefox
alt.comp.software.thunderbird
alt.comp.software.seamonkey

have been created, no doubt population around the various usenet
servers will be slow.  At the moment they only exist on news.aioe.org
and one or two other servers, I've requested them on a few servers
that I use, but will request them on more servers over the next few
days.  If they don't show up on servers that you use, feel free to
request them there.

I found them also on
 news.neodome.net

Thanks! :D

Individual Sig files for UseNet server??

2021-04-02 Thread Daniel
As you can see, on the news server I have a sig file indicating my use
of SeaMonkey on both Win7 and Linux.

With the impending move to UseNet, having just a single sig file might
not be suitable.

So, is it possible to have "newsgroup specific" sig files so that, if
I'm posting to a SeaMonkey group it indicates what version of SeaMonkey
I using, if I'm posting to a Win7 group the sig file indicates I'm on
Win7 and if posting to a Linux group the sig file indicates what version
of Linux I'm using ... as examples?? And a general, plain vanilla, one
for the rest.

And, if so, how??

TIA

Treat the new groups as substitutes for

mozilla.support.firefox
mozilla.support.thunderbird
mozilla.support.seamonkey

Clearly the new groups are not affiliated with Mozilla in any way, and
will provide user-to-user support, hoping to see familiar faces there,
play nice ...

How about that!

The blog has it's own feed!

Enjoy. :)

Yep, I use it too in IRC. How about that! :D

That's great for you.

How about providing a service to all the others here that might want to
do that, and explain how you added it to Chat.

I don't see the link in the topic.

Use https://ruby-rbot.org/ (an IRC bot) and add and watch
https://blog.seamonkey-project.org/feed/:

rss add seamonkeyblog https://blog.seamonkey-project.org/feed/
rss watch seamonkeyblog

The bot will check and alert of new posts from there. :)

Actually, SeaMonkey has its own RSS reader too!

The inability to close down or rename old newsgroups is one of the
reasons why these groups are not fed to Usenet.

In addition, the mailing lists of some of the to-be-terminated
newsgroups are gated through gmane, eg
gmane.comp.mozilla.seamonkey.user, gmane.comp.mozilla.announce.

If replacement mailing lists are needed then Freelists

Seamonkey 2.53.6 win32 germany not install of old version 2.53.5.1

ich habe heute die Version 5.53.6 auf meine Version 5.53.5.1 win32

Muß ich die alte Version erst deinstallieren, damit die Installation der

Ich möchte natürlich alle Einstellungen und Mails behalten.,
