So when I right mouse and select open link in new tab I keep getting a
new browser window because I'm selecting the wrong thing. This is a new
issues since 2.2. Did ya'll switch the order of open link in new tab and
open link in new window or am I going crazy? If I'm not crazy then why
the change - seems it would screw up many who click on auto pilot.

Yep, their order was switched in the context menu. Open in a new tab is now
on top. That must've been borrowed from the FF5 code which did the same
thing. Old habits die hard. :)

I think you may find Midori a superior choice to Chrome.

No spying and much tighter code.

I took a look but it requires Python 2.4, which I don't have, and am not
interested in installing. Such packages should be completely self-contained
not requiring externals if they want to move upwards.

I think it is more about the version of Flashblock on AMO being
 Firefox-only.
For instance, if you go to
 https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/seamonkey/addon/flashblock/ you get
 redirected to
 https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/flashblock/, yet
 https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/seamonkey/addon/noscript/ does not

 In addition, https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/flashblock/
says Updated July 14, 2011 and For other browsers such as Seamonkey
2.0, and Netscape 9, please visit our project installation page for the
 latest Flashblock 1.3.x.
 http://flashblock.mozdev.org/installation2.html#current;

So I think the Add-ons manager is just showing add-ons on AMO that are for
 SeaMonkey.

I'm not up on my acronyms so AMO is a mystery but maybe that's not
important. I've figured out that it's probably better to goto the author's
website anyway. For example yesterday I couldn't get Flashblock to install
into a new Firefox profile, but it worked OK from the author's website.
[Apparently the Mozilla servers have problems sometimes, and some
routes/methods work better than others. That was a temporary glitch and it's
working OK today.] I only have 3 special add-ons (extensions/themes) on my
list that I want to always use in Firefox and SeaMonkey so that's not too
much trouble. It would be more of a problem for someone who has a large
number.

SM2.2 Add-ons Manager searches poorly

2011-07-15 Thread JohnQPublic
I use the Flashblock add-on in Firefox which comes up OK when I search for
Flashblock with the Firefox Add-ons Manager, along with 23 other related
add-ons. When I try the same search in SeaMonkey2.2, only one add-on is
found, NoScript, which is related but not what I want. I had to do a google

Another add-on which I use in Firefox is Titlebar Tweaks Plus:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/titlebar-tweaks-plus/
This comes up along with 36 other related add-ons if I search for Titlebar
with the Firefox Add-ons Manager, but SeaMonkey only finds 3 related
add-ons. I also tried a google search and apparently a SeaMonkey version of
this add-on is not available.

Some relevant questions come to mind:

-Did former versions of SeaMonkey search better, or is this a bug in
SeaMonkey2.2?

-Are a lot fewer add-ons available for SeaMonkey compared to Firefox?

-Are the add-on developers not registering their add-ons properly so they'll
be found with SeaMonkey searches? Or what?

-Is there any way to test/try a Firefox compatible add-on in SeaMonkey if a
SeaMonkey version is not officially available (such as my Titlebar Tweaks
Plus example above)?

 example.

It looks like the same size text is used on the Tab Bar, Menu Bar. and in
the address window. It's marginally acceptable at those other locations,
 but
the Tab Bar needs better legibility (a bigger font). It would be OK with
 me
if the font size were increased at all of those locations.

 Is there any way?

 Thanks.

Here are ways to adjust text size:

 1. Start/Settings/Control/Personalization/Adjust Font Size

 2. Start/Settings/Control/Personalization/Display Settings

 3. Start/Settings/Control/Personalization/Window Color and
Appearance/Advanced. Then try adjusting Message Box and Menu fonts to
 larger and possibly different fonts.

 4. In SeaMonkey, Edit/Preferences/Appearance/Fonts. Then make size column
values 16, 16, 18. You might also want to change some of fonts
 (experiment with them).

Thanks. That did it. It has been years since I played around with those
settings and I did myself some real good. My old eyes thank you!

FYI:
the SeaMonkey font settings don't affect the font size used on the tabs.
That is controlled by windows Message Box. In my Windows XP the path is:
rightclick Desktop Properties Appearance Advanced Message Box

Note: the height of the tabs in SeaMonkey is still a bit less than Firefox.

That's for my fully installed SeaMonkey, which is quite different from my

It's like the fully installed SeaMonkey 2.2 is missing something. Maybe it's

Granted, not every mouse has a 3rd mouse button but nearly every.

Thanks for the tip! It works fine with Firefox too.

That's definitely the easiest way provided the spring on the 3rd mouse
button (a middle rollerwheel on my mice) isn't too strong. I've tried 2 mice
and one was OK, the other requires an extra strong fingerpress to click the
middle button. (It tends to roll rather than be clicked.) That will be one
of my criteria when I go mouse shopping next time.
