You can make it appear either by: - Enabling viewing hidden folders in Explorer at Organize/Folder and Search Options/View, - Or, for a one-time thing, type %APPDATA% on the address bar. It will take you to the c:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming folder. Well -- said show all folders and it's not there. Tried the %appdata% and it didn't find it. Re: ATT email problem
Well, it's now 10am EDT and I just got off the phone with ATT support. They still are clueless. And the young tech I talked with wasn't aware we COULD send text version. And they think it's ONLY Thunderbird. I don't know if Thunderbird had any changes on Friday but I do not believe SeaMonkey did and that's what I use. So it would seem obvious ATT/Yahoo has put in some upgrade they didn't properly test. Lisa cmcadams wrote: Jay O'Brien wrote: The ATT problem has also affected me. Re: ATT email problem
Gee ... Since I spent most of the weekend having to email off this server mailer instead of my SeaMonkey and spent 2 wasted phone calls, as have everyone else who called in, why bother? I'd hazard to guess since this problem started late on Friday no one at ATT/Yahoo has spent much time on it over the weekend. I'm also betting, even though all who called have given contact information, including email addresses, ATT/Yahoo won't be notifying US of the fix. --- On Sun, 3/11/12, Jay O'Brien jayobr...@att.net wrote: From: Jay O'Brien jayobr...@att.net Subject: Re: ATT email problem To: support-seamonkey@lists.mozilla.org Date: Sunday, March 11, 2012, 4:23 PM I changed msgcompose.background_color line from #FF to #ff and all is ok, as suggested. Re: ATT email problem
I suppose I shouldn't have been so flip. To me this isn't a fix it's a work around. The problem is on ATT/Yahoo's end. And there are probably a number of people who have not come to the Mozilla group because they wouldn't be comfortable making a change like this. Also, if ATT/Yahoo have to spend time fixing this, next time just maybe when they put in some fix, they'll test with the Mozillas as well as IE, Chrome and whatever. Problem with email
I've been using my Seamonkey email almost exclusively. Friday morning, it worked fine. Friday night I started getting errors. My Email account itself seems fine. I can receive. I can send through that email account using my smartphone. I get an error message when sending through Seamonkey. Nothing was changed between the sessions. I checked with my provider (ATT -- I kept my dial up account but access through Att DSL), tried a few things and nothing worked. I did send several test mails and although all produced an error message, at least one got through. In putting my account back after the help from ATT, now my outgoing is not accepting my password, although I have verified I'm using the proper one. It appears since I can send mail through many sources outside SeaMonkey, has something changed there? ___ support-seamonkey mailing list support-seamonkey@lists.mozilla.org https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/support-seamonkey
Re: Problem with email
Windows 7 SeaMonkey 2.7.2 Unfortunately, after ATT's help I can't get the original message. At this point, the best I get is it does not accept my password. However, at least one of my messages that listed as failed made it to the recipient. The message I was getting was 2 parts. First it came up and told me there was a problem, possibly abuse, and to then contact the att.yahoo.whatever administrator. Clicking the OK on that, the second message appeared that was something like it lost it's way midway through the SMTP connection. Well, I just tried plain text, also, and it worked! yay. Thanks, Jay, for the idea. In my case, I'm on my Laptop Wireless so that didn't help. And I just talked with ATT AGAIN and they have apparently gotten a LOT of calls about this. It is apparently just the Mozilla's of SeaMonkey and Thunderbird. The person I talked with also mention BlackBerry, but I just sent a test message out and that seems to have gone. At about 10:30 pm EST ATT said they were estimating 4 hours and the problem should be fixed. So .. there's a time estimate. I always thought the non-Worldnet ATT was bad enough.
