You may have to click on the "grippy" on the far left of the now missing
line.
A grippy is a small upwards triangle that when clicked shows or remove
the corresponding menu line. When clicked, it rotates to the right
(triangle point to the right).

hope this helps

Hello,

I had similar problems when I used Seamonkey. I had used Adobe for
years, but as it became more and more buggy and bloated I dumped it.

I have successfully used PDF-Xchange with Seamonkey. In any case,
I have left Seamonkey and now use Firefox. I have no problems with
the PDFs you've referenced with Firefox.

You might try using something other than Adobe.

ST, I'm still using SM 1.1.15 and use the three-pane mail view, just as

Lately, when I start SM, the mail page comes up with the left column and
then the rest of the screen is blank..for a second or so, then the
right hand part of the screen divide, top and bottom, and my mail is
being downloaded.

I'm on dial-up, so I've let this delay go, whilst my computer is talking

Re: Since 1.1.16: single mouse clicks seen as double-clicks?

On 04/22/09 15:07, Peter Potamus the Purple Hippo wrote:

Mark Hansen wrote:

I realize this sounds strange, but I'm really just wondering

I'm running SeaMonkey 1.1.16 on both Linux (CentOS 5.2) and Windows
(XP SP3) and on both, since upgrading SeaMonkey to 1.1.16 (from
1.1.13) a few times per day, a single click on something is seen
as a double click.

For example, I run the Mail and Newsgroup client in the three frame
view, where it shows the tree view on the left, the list of messages
across the top and the message preview pane along the bottom.

At times, when I click on a message in the list view, not only is
the message selected, but it is opened in a new window - just as
though I had double-clicked on it.

Also, at times when I click on, say, a news group in the tree view,
a new Mail and Newsgroup application window is opened, as though I
had double clicked on it.

I've since been very, very careful to be sure that I'm not double-
clicking, but still it happens a few times a day on both platforms.

It's not the double-click speed of the mouse, as that says how long
of a delay between single clicks is allowed for the set of clicks
to be interpreted as a double-click. In my case, I'm only clicking
the mouse once.

Anyone else seeing this?

Thanks,
are you using the same box for both windows and linux?
If so, then get a new mouse. If not, then what have you
got running in the background of both computers? I had
that once and it turned out to be a hidden windows
program running in the background. I disabled it and
things went back to normal.

Two separate work stations. I am using the same model mouse on
both machines, but I've been using it for about 6 months now
with no problems (until upgrading to SeaMonkey 1.1.16).

Both machines have lots of things running in the background,
as is the way with both Windows and Linux. Nothing is running
that I would suspect as causing any problems. Nothing new in
any case (except, again, SeaMonkey 1.1.16).

I guess I can go back to 1.1.13 and see if the problem goes away.

Is anyone else seeing this?

Hello,

I'm using 1.1.14 and I have the same problem. Also, if I highlight
a group of email in preparation to delete and then click once then
I'll get additional windows opened with all the highlighted emails
starting to load.

I've adjusted my mouse settings updated, and updated drivers to no
effect.

I don't know what you mean by 'drop down', but for the menus, add
this to your userChrome.css file or put into stylish. You can change
the 13px to anything you want:

.menubar-text {font-size: 13px !important;}

menupopup .menu-iconic-text, popup .menu-iconic-text,
menupopup .menu-iconic-left, popup .menu-iconic-left,

if you're using userChrome.css, then you need to restart SM for it to work.

#bookmarks-ptf .bookmark-item

Email viewing issue

2009-02-20 Thread ST

Hello,

I have Yahoo pop email with 1.1.14. I have my email set up so that the
email list is in the top window and a 'viewing' window is below. In the
past, when I clicked once on an email it would load in the viewing
window below. Now, most of the time but not always, when I just click

once on an email it will bring up a new window that displays the email?!

Also, when I use the key to highlight a list of emails to
delete, a window will frequently pop up telling me that loading that

number of emails to view will take time?!

These things are new, so I'm wondering if I've messed up some setting?
Also, I use Mnenhy, if that would be a factor.

you may have to blow away your chrome folder. Do this while the program
is closed. WARNING: If you have any other extensions installed, then
you will loose those, too, so you'll have to reinstall them aswell.

Hello,

I'll have to think about that Peter. I've got several extensions
installed. I'm not sure having Stylish is worth all that trouble, but

This probably affects other items (Message Boxes - you think?), but I

first, get yourself an extension such as Stylish. This will allow you

Now, add the following scripts to make various changes in the following
areas:

/* to change the account names and folders to a bigger size */
#folderTree > treechildren::-moz-tree-cell-text
{font-size: 14px !important; }

NOTE: where it says font-size, you can make that any size you want. You

However, I'm running SeaMonkey 1.1.14 on both Windows/XP SP3 and CentOS

Perhaps you should make sure you've downloaded and installed the correct

I did a web search for a solution, but so far I've found none.

I think Adobe is in over their heads with AR. Consequently so are their
users, which is why I stay as far away from them as I can. If you haven't
already tried this, I would uninstall AR9 and then folklow up with
Microsoft's uninstall clean-up utility. Then install Foxit and see if it
will perform properly. But overriding everything is the difficulty of
uninstalling AR - the Internet is full of people in different situations who
have had to resort to different tricks to get rid of it, or just couldn't.

If this piece of software were only marketed to, say, NASA or the medical
profession, it would install, uninstall and work right, but since it's just
the general public, then there's no problem in putting out a piece of crap
and making changes on the fly.

If Foxit still won't work, then based on a casual reading of what I came
across, I'd revert to AR8.

Hello,

Thanks for the reply. I uninstalled Adobe 9 and installed Adobe 8, but
still no joy.

So, I reinstalled Foxit Reader. It still does not work unless I open
the pdf file using the IE Tab. I guess that will have to do, and I'll

just have to try to remember to use the IE tab instead of just clicking
on the pdf link.

Adobe Reader problem

The was discussed not too long ago. Just click on View/Use Style/None
and you will have both Username and Password fill boxes. Once logged in,
you should be able to restore the style to Default.

I tried adding Foxit to the helper applications but that did nothing.

Simply setting Foxit as the default file handler in Windows should
be enough to automatically create the Helper Application listing in
SeaMonkey. FWIW, here are HA screens from my properly operating
Foxit/SeaMonkey installation.

Have you tried uninstalling Foxit and re-installing it?

Hello,

Foxit Version 3.0 build 1120

Yes, I uninstalled it and downloaded a fresh version and reinstalled
that, but still no joy.

Try this:

In Foxit, Edit - Preferences - Internet: Try checking "Display PDF in
browser."

I'm using Win XP and Foxit 3 with the Pro Pack. It works fine here. If
the above doesn't fix it I would email Foxit support.

Hello,

Thank you and the rest for all your replies.

I checked the Display setting and it was already checked.

I have Foxit Reader 2.3 installed as the program to use for pdf files.
I have removed Adobe Reader since Foxit suits all my purposes better and
is faster. No problem on 1.1.14 or previous versions.

Are you sure you configured the helper application preference properly?
Correct location for Foxit? Correct extension? Left the 'plug-in
finder service' box unchecked? Closed and then re-opened SM after the
changes?

Hello,

I believe so. I've done and re-done those settings several times.

Hello,

I forgot to add that Foxit load PDF files fine within IE.

ST

is this happening on all sites with PDFs or just one or two? If a
couple, then post links

Hello,

It's all sites. I even tried File-Open File and it did the same thing.

It started to load then stopped and the same popup came up. But, again

it works correctly in ie 7. And, it works if I just use the Foxit Reader

to view a PDF file from one of my folders.

Does it work in Firefox too?

What version [of firefox; and seamonkey]?

If no to Firefox, I'd argue it is *definitely* a foxit bug.

I don't know about Firefox. I'm using SM 1.1.13
