Re: 2.46 Automatically Updates, Breaks Mac OS 10.6.8
This thread has gone in the wrong direction, as it is focusing on whether or not I have backed up my profile data. The original (and more important) question is -- is "shouldn't SeaMonkey check System Requirements before automatically updating?" ___ support-seamonkey mailing list support-seamonkey@lists.mozilla.org https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/support-seamonkey
Re: 2.46 Automatically Updates, Breaks Mac OS 10.6.8
The profile was crippled by SeaMonkey. Here is a description of this issue from the 2.46 Release Notes. "Data loss warning: If you use a profile with this or any later version and then try to go back to SeaMonkey 2.40 or earlier, SeaMonkey will rename your history file to places.sqlite.corrupt and create a new places.sqlite file, effectively resetting your browsing history." To avoid all of this, it would be beneficial if SeaMonkey could check System Requirements before automatically updating. ___ support-seamonkey mailing list support-seamonkey@lists.mozilla.org https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/support-seamonkey
2.46 Automatically Updates, Breaks Mac OS 10.6.8
SeaMonkey 2.46 has automatically updated itself on my computer running Mac OS 10.6.8. This update is not compatible (it requires Mac OS 10.9), and therefore does not run. It also cripples my profile. And so now I must re-install 2.40, and start over with a new profile. Shouldn't SeaMonkey check System Requirements before automatically updating ? ___ support-seamonkey mailing list support-seamonkey@lists.mozilla.org https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/support-seamonkey
