That's weird. It's only supposed to log you out if you were
disconnected. But it can also happen in the case of an error in the main
code. Is there any relevant error in the Error Console (Tools Web
Development)? Relevant errors will be for files under chrome://msnmsgr/.

does it support MSN Alerts?

No, it doesn't. I should know, I'm the developer. ;)

You are the developer, I am honored.

It worked but didn't store credentials, also no option worked except
delete, but had no contacts anyway, hence wanting MSN Alerts for forums.

You might want to spend a few minutes exploring the Preferences dialog,
you could save us a lot of time.

EditPreferencesBrowserInternet Search

Check/uncheck the boxes to suit your preference. I have open the sidebar
unchecked, and open a tab checked. Just don't check both of them.

I could swear I remember you.

Top work there thank you.

I still don't like this old-fashioned *geek* approach to what is
otherwise a top suite of apps.

There was a dude asking for feedback at one stage and I helped him out I
think but now it's time for another round I reckon, meaning that the
program must be re-designed once again from the ground up in order to
incorporate more basics by default and let the next era of secure and
safe browsing begin.

All the best

but who's needs do we cater to??? Yours may be different to mine and
mine maybe different to the next persons.

If you have a look at the program you are using, you may be able to set
it up to meet you specific needs whilst at the same time, me and the
other guy can set SM up to meet our specific needs.

Yeh but it needs to start up with a few things checked rather than hunt
here in the forum to find out how it's meant to work, changing options
etc., just a go button was a real mental challenge and search nearly
killed me.

Hi Lee

I can't see a go button in customize I'm afraid unfortunately as much
as I appreciate your help I really believe it should be back to the
drawing board for the devs cause at least it's stable but very basic I feel.

I'm not saying Flock is better, just some aspects of Seakmonkey can be
improved, in order to replace and then re-compile the other stuff later,
ie re-invent

Check that, the Go button is actually part of the Location bar. If the
Location Bar is showing, try EditPreferencesBrowser.

Check the box to show the Go button, it will appear right next to the
Location Bar.

By the way, have we met here before?

:)

Seamoney is now Portable!

Now I can have my cake (news) and eat it too with my brower!

Awesomeness, except some of the default settings are a bit beyond my
intelligence level and understanding but thanks heaps for the pointer

Any way to put an arrow in the address bar like Flock?

Firefox is ok but Flock is the best because they took mozilla code and
improved on the concept.

The arrow in the Flock Location Bar is simply a Go button, which can be
added in SeaMonkey and placed next to the Location Bar, or any other
spot you desire.

Then again, if you prefer Flock, why not just use it?

Lee

Hi Yes but to do that would make it not part of the address bar itself,
which is how it's done in Flock and to a lesser degree Firefox.

Seamonkey is good, but too old fashioned in some areas to be commercial.

Please post your question here rather than a link, thanks.

What, too lazy to click a link? If you felt it was a problem for the
newsgroup, you could have pasted it here yourself, like I'll do now:

3JGP8P wrote:

One other thing I don't like is how tabs come up in front.

Why isn't this like Firefox, or better still give me the option like
Opera but instead have it behind by default, again like opera.

Again no offence but who is making the design decisions?

It's not a question of being lazy but rather a matter of simple courtesy
to post the issue in the newsgroup. Why subject users to have to click a
link every time? Not only that but posting to the group will allow for
better search criteria, etc. You also have to take into consideration
that users are more aware of malicious links nowadays and will refuse to
click links in forums.

At any rate, thanks for posting the issue.

I think it's awesome, post anon in a forum and link to it from here,
would certainly clean this place up!

Thank you mozilla foundation.

I disagree with the post. I hate tabs worth a passion but that me I
prefer open windows and have new material replace the content of the
previous window. I have enough of a time concentrating on one window at
a time much less flipping from one to the other in tabs. I prefer doing
one thing at a time.

Besides with the slow 1mb Synchronous DSL line. SM2 is slow enough as it
is. and with items in tabs slow it down even more.
Now for as for putting X's to dimiss a tab if your going to use tabs
that is a good thing

Yes, I was told to use middle click that has solved at least one
problem but others' exist as per forum post.
