You can't attach a folder because it is not a "file". If you click on a
folder to attach it, the content(s) become visible where you can select
some/all to send. Or, you can zip up the folder and attach the zip "file".

I would think you'd either have to attach all the folder contents 
individually, or zip the folder then send.
