This is the greatest extension if you prefer a default of plain text
display (as I do). I like the fact that it is activated by context menu,
because it emphasizes the fact that it applies only to the current
message. (I am also big into context menus in general.)

Unfortunately it will not currently install on SM2.

I don't think it is needed in SM2, as there is a context menu:
When in RSS feed:
View -- feed msg body as:
- web page
- summary
- default format

Does it help ?

Dominique:

I do not see this context menu in SM2 Alpha 3.

It is in the nightlies (I am now using today's nightly 20090605) on
Linux (which I find really usable and safe !).

Cheers,

Dominique:

OK, good. I do not really have time to play with nightlies, but I can wait. (I
just installed SM2 on my Windows 7 RC machine to see what it was like.)

But I still think it would be better if the default display mode could be
specified separately for each server (see my recent post HTML message display
for RSS). Does the about:config method described by Chris Ilias work in the
latest SM2?

Yes, it would be nice to have this per server/RSS subscription...
about:config and |rss.display.html_as| can be set the value to |0|
