No "email account" option in new account wizzard

2015-03-23 Thread Rip Stuart
Hello. When I try to create a new account I can only create a newsgroup
account. I don't get to choose if I want to create a maillist/newsgroup
account or an email account. After filling in my name and my email
address it inmediately asks for the newsgroup server.

I'm probably doing this wrong. I'm using seamonkey 2.31 on Linux.
Thank you

Here is the fix.

I had the same problem with an old account to aioe.org. Set associated
mail.server.server#.valid to true. The account appeared in the account
panel and deleted it. Fixed the new account wizard.

ok I'll never do that again, thank you. If I won't click on those links
then I'll have to always manually subscribe to newsgroups. The only part
that gives me trouble is filling in the newsgroup server. I don't know
how to find it. I know the newsgroup server for this seamonkey newsgroup
is "news.mozilla.org" only because someone told me. But how are you
supposed to find that? Should I start another thread?

On the community page, linked to above, there is a section titled
Newsgroups / Mailing Lists which includes

mozilla.support.seamonkey

End-user support, ask user questions about SeaMonkey here.

Newsgroup: mozilla.support.seamonkey
Mailing List: support-seamonkey@lists.mozilla.org
subscribe/unsubscribe

Google Groups: view topics

Mousing over the mozilla.support.seamonkey, following the "Newsgroup"
sub-header, shows it links to
news://news.mozilla.org/mozilla.support.seamonkey

Similarly, mousing over the "view topics" after Google Groups shows a
link to http://groups.google.com/group/mozilla.support.seamonkey

Mousing over either of them doesn't show me anything... oh wait, it does
when I re-enable the status bar. You're right folk. Thank you
