Hello all,

Having challenges retrieving emails into SM 2.48.

The error message is as follows:

Sending of password for user x...@techson.net did not succeed. Mail
server beast.noc.com responded: Authentication failed.

Is this a server side error or SM error? I can retrieve email via the
web portal.

TIA - bo1953

When I get this now, it is always a server error. I then call my ISP.

Note that I use Thunderbird for E-mail, not SeaMonkey. That is because
I frequently switch browser profiles, and I do not want to switch
mail-news profiles when I do that. Several versions of Thunderbird ago,
Thunderbird would often "forget" my password. That has been corrected.
I believe that the latest version of SeaMonkey and a few versions before
this one contains the same correction.

DR - thank you, I have called my ISP on this. We shall soon find out...

Yes, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and other
"founding fathers" owned slaves. However, they created
a nation. Robert E. Lee, Jefferson Davis, Thomas
"Stonewall" Jackson and other "heroes" of the
Confederacy tried to tear the nation apart. Statues
and other monuments to those "heroes" of the
Confederacy actually celebrate traitors and treason.

This could be due to an incorrectly entered password on your end. Have
you recently changed the password for the account?

jd - thank you.

My password has not changed and I Am able to use it when logging in
through the web portal.

I will try again on this.
