Thanks!

I presume this would occur if Foxy was the default browser,
not IE or any other.

Michael, if you are using SM as your mail agent, it is my understanding
that you *must* use SM Browser to open any URLs

After all, it's all the one program, mail browser

Why would you want to open URLs in any other Browser program?

Hm. Begs the question then, why would you use SeaMonkey for mail/news
and not Thunderbird?

I am just fine using the latest Firefox, however I was stuck at TB 2.0.0.24
prior to migrating to SM.

For now, I am training myself to copy the URL instead of clicking the link,
then paste it into a FF window. A bit annoying...

Sincerely,

Due to TB 3.x being so undesirable.

You can't that I am aware of. It's an old bug from the Netscape 7 days
that you can't use another browser. It seems that it's never been fixed yet.

Why would that be a bug? SM is an all-in-one. I wouldn't expect it to
work any other way.

 S.

If I remember correctly, the messenger component in SM is based on the
Netscape/Mozilla foundation code, not written from scratch. Seems like
the bug made it to SM because of that. If one of the devs would like to
comment on that please do so, thanks.

A common (misconception?) is that since the browser is loaded to memory
then that's the reason but the devs a long time ago said that wasn't so
but rather a bug.

Thanks very much. That link put me onto an extension called Launchy. I was
quickly / easily able to come up with an XML file to launch a new Firefox window with the
specified URL.

?xml version=1.0 encoding=UTF-8?
configurations xmlns=http://launchy.mozdev.org/configurations;

labelMozilla Firefox/label

Perfect!
