Picking the default engine in settings will *not* change search engine in location bar nor in the select right-click search option. Here is the fix. 1) If you don't have the Search widget Navigation Toolbar then right-click > Customize and restore it. It is the one with the little dropdown list now with DuckDuckGo icon. This is just temporary 2) Close Customize 3) Click the DuckDuckGo dropdown and switch to whatever you want. I wanted Google. 4) Now you can remove the Search widget from Navigation Toolbar and searches within the Location widget will be what you want. I drug search from the customize toolbar to the navigation toolbar a long time ago. And I can select from the search engines I have listed there. Although I haven't tried adding any new ones.
