Re: Unable to change junk mail destination folder

2011-02-08 Thread S. Beaulieu
Update: I managed to solve the problem by erasing my profile, copying in
its place an older version of it I'd saved and then recopying all my
mail data files over those. This allowed me to change the destination
folder of junk mail *before* deleting the account to which it was
originally redirected, and then delete that said account.

It seems that the problem really was caused by that: suppressing an
account whose junk folder was the destination folder for all accounts'
junk mail. It screwed up something in the system, thus preventing me to
make any more changes to the junk mail settings.

I think this is a bug that needs to be corrected. Sure, deleting such an
account would leave junk mail settings "orphan", but it shouldn't block
the system completely. The settings should still be modifyable.

Anyway, I thought I'd report back this in case someone else runs into
this problem.

As I said on Friday, there is no Quick Launch feature for SM2.x.

The current situation is, all the drop-down menus in my junk mail
settings show up empty when I access that window. I can change them to
whatever I want. I can click on OK, and the window closes. But the new
settings are never saved. When I go back into the junk mail settings,
the drop-down menus are all showing empty again.

Thanks!

I haven't had Quick Launch ever since I upgraded to SM2.x, and even
before that, I didn't use it, so that can't be the problem.

BTW, FYI, I also tried recreating the email account I deleted, hoping
that would at least allow me to make a change, but that didn't work either.

Quick Launch is shown as a SM icon in your System Task Bar next to the
clock on Windows XP. Quick Launch keeps a part of SM in memory
including some preferences, so if it is not closed some preferences will
not be saved until SM Quick Launch is closed.
