The site was unavailable due to server problems. Still not fully 
restored I see.

You can get the OSX version from here:

https://l10n.mozilla-community.org/~akalla/unofficial/seamonkey/comm-esr52
Make sure you get the comm-esr52 when it is back. No Nightly or release. 
SeaMonkey releases are moving to the ESR branch.

Hmm the only similar bug was:

It is fixed for Fx 51 and I checked. We included the code in the 2.48 build.

Just tried 2.48 after updating to 10.12.6 and didn't have a problem. So need 
the crash id.
Also check if you regional preferences including timezone are ok. I have seen 
one bug where this caused problems. Just check them in system preferences.

SM2.48 (Mac) crashed during changing the SM-Apps like email

Hello,

I downloaded and installed sucessfully SM2.48 from:
https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/seamonkey/releases/2.48/mac/de/

onto iMac with the latest OS-Version (Sierra)

Also the starting of the browser went well... but if I wanna change
to the email-, telefonapp ... I get a cpl. crash of the whole
SeaMonkey .

I tried this with a new profile without any addons and get the same
result as before .

Has anyone a hint or workaround to fix it?
