Why should we vote for a bug that should be corrected.

Voting allows users to be given a pot of votes which they can allocate
to bugs, to indicate that they'd like them fixed. This allows developers
to gauge user need for a particular enhancement or bugfix. By allowing
bugs with a certain number of votes to automatically move from
UNCONFIRMED to NEW, users of the bug system can help high-priority
bugs garner attention so they don't sit for a long time awaiting triage.
from http://www.bugzilla.org/docs/3.4/en/html/voting.html

IMHO i think that the votes must be applied against new features.
If the developper concentrates more on solving bugs .. the number of
 complains should decrease.

This is a bit simplistic, IMHO.
Usually a project doesn't have the resources to solve *all* its bugs, so
developers can use the voting system to determine how much a bugfix is
desired and concentrate more on high requested fixes.

That ain't the way it works. The developers are supposed to work on and

Strange issue with email/newspost

2009-12-16 Thread Phillip Jones

I've noticed an issue and I don't believe it was in SM1.

From time to time (and its not every time). I will send a post and in
the pop up window that indicate progression of sending. it will end up
with message saying copy complete. But the window does not dismiss. it
continues to show progress as though still sending. And it will not

it is; while progress bar is still running.

Yes - I've seen that on occasion with SM 1.1.18 on my 2.8GHz Core Duo
Intel iMac (4G of RAM) under both Leopard and Sno-Lep. I have to do the
same thing - manually close the Dialog window.

When I check both my Sent folder and also check for my post, it has been
sent and copied - sometimes I also get a second dialog box that comes up
saying Copy Complete...bu I don't recall that it says anything about
just what has completed.

...this hasn't to me happened for a bit, so I'm culling my memory. I've
always assumed it was because of some issue with the outgoing SMTP server.

with message saying copy complete. But the window does not dismiss. it
continues to show progress as though still sending. And it will not
dismiss until I close it. If I let it continue and check to see if sent
it is; while progress bar is still running.

SM 2 and now SM 2.0.1 on G4 1.67GB 17 Powerbook 1 MB DSL line. Any
one else experience this.

This happens on SM 1.1.X as well. Just once in a rare while.

Any of the developers know what the problem is?

How do you get to vote page in this new system I have voted for bug
previously. In fact I have reported bugs on Bugzilla before. But they
recently re did the Bugzilla system.

Why should we vote for a bug that should be corrected.
IMHO i think that the votes must be applied against new features.
If the developper concentrates more on solving bugs .. the number of
complains should decrease.

Ditto in v1.1.x. I haven't seen it in v2 so far.
