anyone else having a problem with SM logging into American Express

the log in page
www.login.americanexpress - allow me to log in OK
after it accepts my info it goes to:
global.americanexpress.com/x
at which point it shows just a blank page

I tested the same scenario using a test profile, and the same thing
happened
I then tested the same procedure using Firefox 56.0, and it worked OK

I have not spoken with AX about whether they have made any changes to
their site
I do plan to talk with them. MY SM is advertising FF compatibility

Yes, I am seeing the problem as well. What I have found as a
work-around is to edit the URL to remove everything after the slash
after the hostname, which takes me to the home page and says I am logged
in. At that point I hit the "Account" menu at the top of the page and
select "Statements and Activity" item. This usually gets me to what I
want, although once or twice I have gotten an error message about them
having problems.

I was having the same problem with SM2.48 and solved it by using PrefBar
to change user agent to

Mozilla/6.0 (Windows NT 9: ; WOW128; rv:66.0) Gecko/20200101 Firefox/66.0

American Express has obviously changed something that made its site
incompatible with previous string. Let us know what you learn if you
contact AX.
