Heh, I just do a lot of communication, and SeaMonkey is a big program.
There are lots of questions I don't know the answer to, just people
usually beat me to the answer. Or I find out, by looking well. In this
particular case, I don't know what to do/where to look that is any
better than asking others here.

A bit confused by your problem.

I have both SeaMonkey, and Thunderbird configured with my primary email
account, both using the same incoming, and outgoing server for that account.

Why can't you use the same Account Settings for both applications? Have
you compared the settings side by side, and see if one is different than
the other?

Try creating a new profile in SM, name it something new and re-create 
your mail and news accounts.
