Re: [Biofuel] New List

2005-06-11 Thread MANOJ

Dear Balaji
If we can produce Methonol from saw dust we can use
it for petrol engines to be used as petrol substitute ok, what will be the
procedure to extract Methonol like
can you please direct me or how can we generate
electricity is it viable to do in small scale
My concern is to find a substitute to petrol here
its US$ 0.80 per liter thats lot of money only for petrol cos average persons
monthly wage is like Min US$50.00 per month so how can a poor man pump some
petrol to his motor bike

Thanks
Manoj

  Hello Manoj,

  You can dowhole lot of
things with saw dust, such as produce fuel briquettes for primary energy,
generate electricity or process heat by gasifying the saw dust briquettes and
  even produce methanol from it.

There was a similar enquiry from
Upali Magedaragamage, Executive Director, National development Foundation, Sri
Lanka some time back to the list.

  Refer to http://www.mail-archive.com/biofuel@sustainablelists.org/msg40222.html

Re: [biofuel] Bio diesel questions

2004-07-21 Thread Manoj Agarwal

Dear John,
In the process to manufacture edible oils any anti foaming agent used get burnt
by and large in the process and only traces are left, which in no way can harm
the engine. It is a suggestion that while using WVO be careful and is suggested
to have a prefilter before you proceed with Biodiesel. This will save catalyst.
from poisoning and reducing cost!

The answer is No. gasoline engine works on a different principal and therefore
will have to be replaced with a diesel one! you can't mix and match

Re: [biofuel] Re: Drink Water From Dehumidifier?

Everything depends on the quality of your wash water including Hardness, Ph and
the contents of remaining minerals present inspite of the fact that source is
dehumidifier. Get the water checked properly before drawing any conclusions!

Dear Khurram,
As I know Pakistan is cultivating Rapeseed in large quantities. You can use
this oil effectively. Alternatively any oil not having mineral oil can also be
converted in B.Diesel effectively. Waste grease, Burnt Mob.Oil from service
stations will be a good idea as well!
