thanks for all the links. i lived some time in the niger delta, where  
shell flares enough gas to provide a quarter of what the UK uses,  
because it's cheaper than reinjecting, building a pipeline, or  
utilizing it locally. and that's on purpose. the equivalent of 1 exxon- 
valdez tanker of oil has spilled in the mangrove creeks every year,  
for 50 years. the revolving door corporate selfregulation we see with  
BP is a problem in nigeria and finland as well, so i appreciate  
articles like these to pass on.

people still denying the urgency of renewable energy and sustainable  
living also own responsibility for these predictable and totally  
avoidable disasters
