[biofuel] Aqualux fuel plant blows up!

2001-05-23 Thread jerry dycus

  Hi All,
Reading in the Tampa Trib this morning I
noticed that the Aqualux fuel plant dicussed on the
biofuel list a while back had a H2+CO pressurized
100lb cly blow. As there was no fire luckily it was a
cyl failure. Pieces of the plant were Blown off and
windows shartered on houses 100 feet away. Luckily
no-one was close when it blew so no one was hurt. I'll
bet they don't hear well today!
They make 'fuel' by electricly arcing water
with carbon rods to make H2 and CO, syn gas.
Let this be a warning for those who think that
H2 is a good fuel. H2 is known for making steel
brittle and even leaking thru 1" steel walls.
Because H2 has only about 325 btu/ cu ft you have
to store it at 3000 psi and add steel embrittlement by
H2 and you can have a big problem.
2 years ago at The Gannon coal power plant they
were doing repairs on the genorators that were cooled
by H2. Apparently they didn't get all the H2 out and a
repairman touched off an explosion that killed him and
blew out the side of the plant.
While H2 does have it's place let's be careful
out there if you are going to fool around with it.

Re: [biofuel] AquaLux

2001-03-22 Thread Ed Service

You are quite right, a arc or short will not increase resistance, It will
decrease it! A dimmer switch on your lights or a variable resistor in series
with a load will increase resistance and consequently reduce the amount of
power used , just what you want! A arc or short, reducing resistance,
allows more power through, resulting in a bigger bill! A device clamped
around a wire could measure the voltage or the amperage flow, but couldn't
measure the resistance! Get real guys! there is no free lunch!

Re: [biofuel] AquaLux

2001-03-22 Thread Tim Castleman

Ok, more detail: My guess is the device you refer to as measuring resistance
was an amprobe, a device that measures amperage. So, they show you it is not
drawing amps (current) then turn on motor-it is now drawing, say 2 or 3
amps. Ok, now, jumper off the armature(stator?) with one side, gound the
other. You now have DC, which the motor should be running on anyway, but
that is another post. With DC you make the arc to split em up. Neat trick,
but a trick.
The motor is using energy. Tell them, ok, now make the gas with that meter
sitting on dead zero, no current draw (resistance in their/your term).
My opinion.

This would be no different than hooking up a battery charger to produce the
arc. Scam.

[biofuel] AquaLux

2001-03-22 Thread MADMAN1159

I did make It to the demo at AquaLux. It was very interesting. It was geared
for investors They are trying to raise 10 million dollars. I do not have any
to risk but if I did I would seriously consider it. They made the gas, cooked
us a steak and showed us a device that supposedly made the gas. They cannot
produce enough gas to take any orders yet, but they are relocating soon and
have the parts to build a new machine. This is a real ground floor
investment. Either they will change the world as we know it or they will go
bust outside of a year. This reminds me of the time I had a chance to buy
stock cheap in a company that wanted to sell burgers out of a single wide
trailer. That company is Checkers also located in Pinellas County. Years from
now I may kick myself for missing this opportunity or I may be glad I didn't
get taken by a scam.

Does anyone know how electricity is billed to you. They did a demonstration
where they clamped a device around an electric wire. They said this was to
measure the resistance in the wire. Then they added another appliance and the
resistance increased. Then they struck an arc and the resistance did not go
up. An arc or short does not increase resistance. Under these conditions they
claim that if you have an appliance running off the electricity and you
create an arc the arc will cost you nothing. The water got extremely hot and
I cannot figure where all the energy to hear the water came from without the
electric company charging you for it. Do they charge by resistance or was
this just smoke and mirrors?

If anyone has any questions about this I will try to answer them but I may
not have all the answers. I do not work for them but I did ask John Lux for a
job if he ever got up and running. If this crap does work I can't Imagine a
better job.

Re: [biofuel] AQUALUX

2001-03-20 Thread Juan C. Bobeda

Hi Madman,

If you can make it to the demo, ask them what is their relationship with a
company called Toups Technology Group,

http://solstice.crest.org/renewables/bioenergy-list-archive/9908/msg00116.html

And with EarthFirst Technologies, Inc., http://www.earthfirsttech.com/

They seem to make the same thing but call it MagneGas instead of AquaFuel.

Besides, both companies AquaLux and EarthFirst claim to have invented the
technology with different investigators. Who is lying? Mabe both ...?

[biofuel] AQUALUX

2001-03-20 Thread MADMAN1159

I went down to AquaLux tonight after work. They were packing up but I did
meet Mr. Lux himself. They are having a demo tomorrow (Tuesday 3-20-01) at
7:30 PM. When I stopped by the door was unlocked so I went in and started
wandering around the place. It is just an office in a strip mall type
industrial park. I walked in on a meeting with the president, vice president
and the secretary-treasurer of the company. They were very nice to me but I
left with as many questions as I went in with. That may be because I was
there after 5:00 and they were trying to get home also. I hope to make it to
the demo tomorrow and I hope I can get some answers.
