RE: [SWCollect] More ramblings
If anyone is interested in a decent list of hint books, you can check my Misc. page at: http://www.classicgaming.com/gotcha/misccol.htm Most of these books are specific to a particular game, but several are compendiums like QFC and Book of Adventure Games series. Some obscure ones listed in there. I actually don't have that many, but the funny thing is...I've never collected hint books. They've always just come in games or were given to me. I do like to collect the compendium ones because they are a great record of the popular games of the time...but I never tried to collect all those single game ones. The only two I'm looking for at this point (not looking very hard either) are QFC V and VI...just to round out the series. Hugh -Original Message- From: Stephen S. Interesting. What's the full name of those Books of Adventure Games? And in your opinion are they better than the QfC? The Book of Adventure Games and The Book of Adventure Games II. :) They're of better construction (i.e., they don't fall apart readily), and the reviews are better (but that's not saying much ... Questbusters tends to give positive reviews to *everything*) but they're otherwise not really any better for the big thing, namely hints and walkthroughs and maps. Also, considerations of quality are made rather moot by the fact that there is almost no overlap at all between these books and the Questbusters books. -- Stephen -- This message was sent to you because you are currently subscribed to the swcollect mailing list. Re: [SWCollect] More ramblings
(Sorry for the delay replying, been hammering away at the new Shoppe code the whole week.) Knowing there is a good amount of I-F fans in this forum (and there's a new one right here), I wonder if anyone ever feels the craving to dig up an old machine and play those things as if we were back in the early 80s? I still do, when I have time. Problem is, I have a huge backlog of more recent games I'd like to play. -- This message was sent to you because you are currently subscribed to the swcollect mailing list. Re: [SWCollect] Mobyscale
1. Personally I never use [MS(T)]. A tear in the wrap exposes the package to scuffing, shelf wear, oxygen, etc., just as if it were off completely torn off. Hence the best rating I will use with the T modifier is NM. (In other words, I use mint-sealed to mean no defects not only with the package, but also with the wrap itself.) 2. I'd rate an OEM game the same way as a loose disk or prop, just one score for the individual item. 3. There may not be enough signed packages going up for sale to make it very widely used. I'd probably just note this in the description, probablyl with bold/red highlight. (Incidentally, I have yet to sell a signed package because I never *find* them pre-signed, and I always promise the authors who autograph my copies that I won't resell them.) -- This message was sent to you because you are currently subscribed to the swcollect mailing list. If I ever take up Med Systems' Asylum again, the length of time will be more like 17 years. It looks like I might never ever find an IBM copy. Does anyone even have a copy? It exists, but had a very limited production run. -- This message was sent to you because you are currently subscribed to the swcollect mailing list.
