Nope, didn't get that one. It's not the first time someone's tried
this and won't be the last. My favorite was when someone registered
paypai.com. Capitalize the I ("paypaI.com") and it looks like the
correct address in a sans serif font, which both Netscape and IE
happen to use in their address bar. Send out some e-mails, rake in
the money, get arrested/sued. 8) (Not sure exactly what the outcome
was, actually.)

Just for fun, I filled it out with some fake
info.  Absolutely no error-checking at all.  Everything I entered went
through.  Got the page it takes you to: http://pub13.bravenet.com/emailfwd/senddata.php.
Think I'm gonna set up a script to bombard them with crap.

This is DEFINITELY a scam.  Anything that
doesn't use a secure site (https) and end in paypal.com is not a real PayPal
site.

I know 268 = AT. I believe you have the rest right, but wouldn't
swear to it.

[SWCollect] CPU/computer designations

2002-11-23 Thread AvatarTom
Hi, some guy wants to get some games for a really old laptop and palmtop. One has an 8088 processor with mono graphics, the other a 80186 with CGA B+W graphics. My question is what CPUs were installed in what computers, what I think is the 8088/86 was in IBM PC, 186 XT, 286 AT, is this true? Many of my games use the AT/XT/PC designation, not actual CPU.

Thanks,
Tom

[SWCollect] Another huge auction

2002-11-23 Thread Marco Thorek
If any of you are interested:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1940900086

Only thing on there that would slightly interested me is the Commodore
US 8 calculator.

Perhaps he should have sold some of those items seperately. There is
just too many loose disks on there to warrant $1000.

Marco
