Re: [SWCollect] So obviously Mt. Drash is no longer rare....

Hmmm, yeah. I think my estimate was a bit too low. It is one of the most desirable Ultima collectables you could hope to bid on (you seem to have all the ones you can't, though). Of course there's no saying what the reserve is, either.

As an aside, I'm also speculating that Keith Z, given past comments about his reluctance to talk about the game, probably wouldn't be willing to autograph one :)

I'll say at least $1000 for the one with the manual. Two at same time will not help price though.

Here's the wording from the CURIOUS page:

When tabulating a game's availability versus the numbers given below, take into
account only condition levels G and above. For an explanation of conditions click
here. Usually, a game in worse condition (i.e. G/G ) will be more readily available
than the same game in better condition (i.e. MS), but the CURIOUS Scale does not
differentiate rarity by condition. Although each category requires that only complete
or near-complete (MMC) games be counted.

___

So these latest ones don't count for CURIOUS, but I do think they are a sign of more
to come.

They're coming out of the woodwork! This now officially makes 5 available on the open
market--according to Hugh, this game is now only 'Rare'. Uncommon is possible by the
end of the year...looks like Drash is 'Trash'.

RE: [SWCollect] So obviously Mt. Drash is no longer rare....

2004-05-14 Thread Josh Lulewicz

So there was a game released for the Neo
Geo Advanced Entertainment System (Home Console) that people claim there are
only 3 or 4 of.

I have seen two of them sell…

The first went for $11,000 and the next
one went for $13,500.

Perhaps Drash
isn’t quite the Holy Grail people claim…

Someone who owns an original Akalabeth should put it on ebay
and see if that draws any out J

Doubtful.

However, there are a number of commercial games that
were never actually published and that existed only in alpha or beta form. (I
may even have a couple of these.) I don't think you'll find games much rarer
than that. :)
