Check out swftools. I seem to remember there being some obfuscating
ability in that toolset. However, I don't think i was as simple as
swftool -encrypt my.swf. I also seem to remember someone that worked on
swftools creating some helper scripts, or programs. Again, this has
been a while back. Also, Motion Twin offers an obfuscator. It is
opensource nor free though. Flasm and Flare come to mind as well.

I read somewhere(no idea now) that if all you're wanting to do is
protect your media files .mp3, .avi, .jpg's and what not, that the swf
player doesn't check filetype. So you can name your files anything you
want and embed them into the flash file. When someone parses out the
strings and tries to locate external content, while not impossible, could
involve some effort.

That's about all I know of.

[swfmill] Universal Binary

2007-01-11 Thread Måns Sewerin
Hi,

First I must say swfmill is a great product, i use it everyday, both
for personal and commercial use.
Since working with 100+ items in Flash IDE library on my mac is
nearly impossible, this program has
been the best timesaver ever!

I recently got a new mac with intel processor and was wondering if
there is a build of the newest swfmill
prerelease that is both for the Intel and the PPC? I tried compiling
myself, but since it requires lots of
external libraries and i need to make it available for all computers
in my office ( both ppc and intel ),
forcing me to link the binary statically (which i had a lot of
trouble with), I gave up...

Is there someone on this list who owns a intel mac and can compile it
for me, or maybe give me some
hints on how I easily can link all libraries together statically?

Best Regards
Måns Sewerin

 hey all,

 i'm just uploading swfmill 0.2.11.22.

  * fixes font import (broken since a while- nobody noticed though :)
  * adds TiledBitmap2 fill style (0x42)
  * adds fix for some fonts, courtesy of Kazuaki MATSUHASHI (thanks!)
  * fixes cacheAsBitmap in PlaceObject3

 find the prerelease at:
 http://swfmill.org/pre/swfmill-0.2.11.22.tar.gz
 http://swfmill.org/pre/swfmill-0.2.11.22-win32.zip
 http://swfmill.org/pre/swfmill-0.2.11.22-macosx.tar.gz (still
 uploading).

a proper fix for Hudson's other problem (with ColorTransform) is
still pending- i don't know how to proceed here as the specs are
clearly not working with the sample files (see the 0.2.11.21 thread).

 regards,
 -dan
